  1. Have less subtle new message alerts in the Notification Area

    So i have the MatterMost app on Windows. I dislike clutter on my taskbar and having too many windows open, so I have it minimised to a notification area icon most of the time.

    The notification area icon looks nice, it's little a white circle inside a circle, and the colour and design matches various other Windows 10 taskbar icons. Very neat and tidy.

    However, I think that this aesthetic is not as important as knowing that I have a new message.

    Currently when I get a new message and Mattermost is minimised to notification area, a small red dot…

  2. Mattermost and Atlassian JIRA

    Hi all,

    we would like to have a button in our Confluence System (onprem) like a "share with Mattermost" button so that users easily can share their spaces with a mattermost team or channel.

    I know that there is a plugin "slack for mattermost" that is compatible with MM, but thats "only" the integration, not a button.

  3. Direct message autoreply limit

    If two persons both have auto replies to DM messages on, it can lead to a situation where auto replies are sent both ways in eternal loop. Could there be some limit how many replies are sent to a person or in a discussion?

  4. Snooze for channel notifications

    I don't want to miss when my team is posting comments on our channel but I also don't want to be be notified every few seconds when things pick up. It would be nice if I could receive a notification and am then aware things being said but I could go in and select a snooze option. Then for the next 15 minutes I don't get distracted for every posting and can choose where my attention is.

  5. Unread count location in GUI

    Unread count should be displayed on the far left of each channel.

    As it sits today, the count is on the far right. For channels with long names or multiple members, you can't actually see the unread count, which makes it useless. In addition, just bolding the channel name is not very easy to see/discern.

  6. allow mobile app download of .zip folders for easier file transfer

    Allow users on mobile app to download .zip folders much like they can from the browser interface. Because the app can't show a preview of the .zip folder, you are unable to download the .zip folder on the iOS app and I assume but have not verified the Android app as well.

  7. BBB moderator for "team_admin".

    Is it possible to add a setting to limit the rights to create a webinar only for "team_admin" with the rights of a moderator of a webinar? The rest of the team members are like ordinary listeners, without the possibility of intercepting the rights of a moderator.

  8. Slack-like browser icon change behaviour for DND mode

    In Slack, if the current user mode is DND, there are three types of browser tab icon:

    1) The normal icon when there is nothing new in the team chat.
    2) The white icon when there are some new messages in some channels.
    3) The red icon when there are some new messages with mentions or in the user private channel.

    It would be nice to have the same behaviour so that the user in DND mode can avoid notifications but react accordingly based on tab icon.

  9. Add the ability to subscribe on Jira issue blocking another issue or being blocked by another issue

    In Jira - Mattermost plugin, there is no way to subscribe on issue link updated to sepcify issue is blocking another issue (or being blocked by another issue).
    For agile development, subscribing on issue blockage is an important feature. Currently there is no way to subscribe.
    In jira this is represented as a link, but in the subscription form, there are only Epic links available.

  10. AWS S3 Prefix/Suffix

    Summary
    At the moment, it is only possible to use root of the bucket. It will be nice to be able to use subfolder of the bucket. Some of us have more than 50 buckets...adding even single one more is chaos.

    Expected behavior
    Be able to set S3Prefix in order to use s3://bucketname/s3prefix/s3_object

  12. Add second password box for confirmation when resetting via "Forgot Password"

    After clicking "Forgot my password" and using the email link to reset, there is only a single box to enter a new password. A second confirmation box would be helpful to ensure no typos happen when entering the new password.

  13. Add the ability to retrieve an archived private channel with admin permissions

    I would like to be able to archive private channels that are no longer in use once a project collaboration is complete but also be able to retrieve that channel if the project reopens or as a means to preserve corporate knowledge and lessons learned for similar projects in the future. Currently, even if you are an admin for a channel, once you archive it, you cannot search for the channel or unarchive it.

  16. Allow users to choose the Audio device for notifications, including 'All Devices'

    In the desktop app, the user is able to select which windows audio device, or All Devices, is used for notification. The option to follow the OS' current selection, or override with your own selection. Sometimes when using the headset as the default OS output device, it would be nice for alerts to be played on the external speakers and/or headset, as chosen by the user

  17. Synchronise drafts between (mobile and desktop) clients

    I currently use Mattermost from the web client and an iPhone. It would be great if draft messages were synchronised between the different clients.

    This is not something that sounds particularly useful in the abstract, but it is a feature of Telegram and I found I would often write half a message and then remember that I had a relevant link or similar on a different platform, so want to continue the message where I could copy-paste that link. Now that we have switched to using Mattermost, I am missing it.

  18. Customize the BOT tag

    Especially for incoming webhooks, it would be nice to override the BOT tag text that is shown on every message. This would allow (for instance) integrations to post to a channel as a user in the external system with the name of the system shown instead of BOT, e.g.:

    someguy IRC: hello

    or

    myusername JIRA: issue comment

    There would still be a visual indication that the username is associated with an integration and may not be an actual user, but the word BOT isn't always the best description of what's happening.

  19. Auto-conversion of messages larger than 16383 characters into a text file attachment on a post

    It could be cool if mattermost did a auto-conversion of messages larger than 16383 characters into a text file of sorts?

    Sometimes, we have large logs and such, which don't need to be search-able by the mattermost search (or present in the DB eating away space) but if there was a way to auto-convert it into a text file after pasting the text normally, that would be super cool

    Paste text into message box --> Hit enter --> message gets converted into a text file and sent in place of the post

  20. Direct Message and @mention have different background notification colors

    When you receive a notification on your phone, it would be helpful to quickly see if it is a DM or an @mention in a channel. You could modify the notification background color to help visually notify the user vs adding more text.
