  1. Central Server for Mattermost Instances

    All self-hosted Mattermost Servers could be authenticated and coordinated by a central server like hub.mattermost.com.
    For example, I have accounts on chat.rockylinux.org and chat.almalinux.org, as well as two self-hosted servers for our organization.
    I want to add all four to my hub.mattermost.com (or some cool subdomain).
    And once I log in to main.mattermost .com, I get the list of servers on which I have accounts.
    If I have an account on hub.mattermost.com, I do not need to create accounts on all servers.
    The hub.mattermost.com can do the on-boarding and data sharing.
    Something like what discord.com does.

    I would like to request the following enhancements for incoming webhooks in Mattermost:

    The ability to reply to a message sent via an incoming webhook using another incoming webhook message.
    The ability to pin a message sent via an incoming webhook to the channel and unpin previously pinned messages.
    These features would improve automation and message management within channels.

  7. Add "to:" search modifier, ability to confine a search to specific direct messages

    Ability to search messages using a "to:" search modifier. It's great to be able to search for messages "from:" a certain user, but it would be great to have "to:" as well.

    This would be helpful, for example, to help prevent me from asking team members repetitive questions. I know that a certain team member is the subject matter expert for a given topic. I know I've probably asked this team member a given question before at some point. If I could search "to:username given_topic" that seems the most logical way to find the last time I asked him this…

  9. Facing Issues with NSF File Conversion Tools

    Hello everyone,

    I’ve recently been trying to convert some NSF files (from Lotus Notes) into a more accessible format like PST or PDF for use in my current audio-visual editing workflow. Unfortunately, most of the tools I tried either crash during conversion or don’t maintain the original file structure. This has created delays in my project timelines. Can anyone suggest a reliable and secure NSF file converter that retains folder hierarchy and metadata during the conversion process?   10. Use the system AUTH log facility for failed logins

    It would be great if Mattermost could use the system AUTH log facility for failed logins.

    It can (obviously) still do its usual logging as configured, etc. but I think failed login attempts should always be done to the system log facility as well.

    It makes integrations with things like fail2ban far less complicated.

  11. Provide feedback that a photo/video is uploading/processing

    Currently, when a photo or video is being shared the send button will grey out, but the user isn't presented with any "progress" as to the upload, this can be a little confusing.
    On the web version and uploading progress bar appears, it would be nice to make a similar feature for the mobile app

  12. Add a "Message" button to the System Console -> Users -> User Configuration view

    Sometimes when I'm working in the Users section of the system console I have reason to want to message the user or users I'm working with. It would be convenient to have a way to initiate a message from the individual user view in System Console -> Users rather than having to copy a user's username, exit the system console, and then start a chat. Especially when I need to follow that up with some other activity in the system console.

  14. Improve reporting on invitation lifecycle

    Currently, nearly no information is exposed to admins about what is happening with invitations individually, or even in aggregate. On any workspace with restricted teams it's important to be able to identify how any individual user was added to a restricted team. In the event that a user who should not be there is added, finding out how they were added so process, rules, etc. can be updated is critical. The critical piece of this is being able to track invites on an individual basis. This shouldn't require any user interface changes, just additions to the INFO level logging.

    Currently, users cannot forward messages to others in Mattermost. It would be helpful if system admins could control this feature — either allow or restrict forwarding globally or between selected users. This would improve usability while keeping communication secure and flexible.

  16. JPEG XL (jxl) Image Format support

    JPEG XL is one of the most modern image formats (in addition to AVIF). It newer and not yet as common as AVIF but it is the only image format which has practically no limitations (it supports almost everything). Compression efficiency is as good as AVIF (except for certain very low filesize settings) and it is also open source and royalty free. Encoding speeds are 3-5x faster than AVIF why it might be better for certain scenarios.

    Browser support is a bit lacking at the moment so if support were added there should be automatic conversion to some more supported…

  19. Ability to warn users about use of restricted terms

    Since Mattermost archives all messages (including deletes and edits), some customers want to warn users before they enter certain content into the permanent record.

    This feature would be similar to a speller checker that warn on certain terms, such as confidential terms or expletives.

    The checking would happen on the client.
