Boards on mobile
It would be great to have access to MM boards on the mobile app, integrated with my existing boards on the desktop and web app. This would allow users to view and update their board tasks from their Boeing Phone, when not logged into our laptop.

"remember previous url"
Whenever app login expires, user is taken all the way back to the 'Enter server URL' screen.
It would be a really nice touch if the mobile app would pre-fill the last-used URL, meaning the user has to remember one less thing when away from their normal work computer.

Allow selection/copy of table data in android app
A table of data when displayed in the Android app (not sure of others) doesn't allow for selection and copy of its data. Regular messages do, why not table data? Can we be allowed to select and copy table data?

Change iOS notification sound
On the iOS platform there doesn’t appear to be a way to customize the sound made for a new message alert. And worse still, it makes a rather generic default iPhone “ding” sound that just disappears among all the other noise my phone constantly makes.
It would be really ideal if that sound can either be changeable by the user, or at least unique enough to be easily recognized (think the tweet sound from the twitter app for example).
A way to achieve this could be by exposing a settings configuration option that allows the user to choose from sounds…

Schedule do not disturb
Users should have the option to set do not disturb status (or offline) based on a time schedule, or for the next X number of hours. A user would define the time DND should be active and the app would switch status during that time period. Currently users wishing to stop notifications must manually set DND status. But the user must also remember to reset the status. This allows users to define a time when they do not want to receive alerts/notifications.

Share Contact Card
It would be cool to share contacts from the phone contact app and display them as such.
Currently it is not possible to share directly from the iPhone Contacts and .vcf files can not be downloaded or opened in iOS (did not try on Android)
Also for reference there was already a forum post about it with sadly no reply: https://forum.mattermost.org/t/share-phone-contact/5952

iOS Timeout/Logout Notification
iOS Timeout/Logout Notification
Based on being automatically logged out every 3 days; it has been a consistent problem having people recognize when they are no longer on and thus not receiving messages (iPhones wise at least). This has already been implemented for Android CAO 2018 according to the search bar.

Ability to add users to team or channel from mobile device
While I'm on my cell phone, I should be able to access and invite people to the team or channel that I am currently in. Both for users who are not currently on the server via email, and users who exist but are in a separate team.

Improve iOS share extension
The current share extension is pretty buggy.
1) It use a modal instead of a dismissible sheet which has been deprecated in iOS 13
2) It's too small when you are part of multiple teams, so you always need to scroll
3) When sharing from Safari, it often say "To share you need at least 1 character in your message" for no reason5 votes -
Direct Message and @mention have different background notification colors
When you receive a notification on your phone, it would be helpful to quickly see if it is a DM or an @mention in a channel. You could modify the notification background color to help visually notify the user vs adding more text.

Allow users the choice for 2-factor authentication: Add Biometric Login
Increase the number of options the end user has to complete authentication. My thought is to use biometrics (face scan or thumb print) similar to that of banking apps then have the user choose 2 of their 3.
1) Username/Password
2) Authentication Code (MFA)
3) Biometric (Thumb Print)4 votes -

Ability to upload videos with size over 50mb
In the iOS application, you need to be able to choose the degree of video compression at startup. This is necessary so that you can compress videos and upload them. Now, when you try to upload a video clip, the video is primarily compressed, but since the compression algorithms are not good enough, the video still weighs too much and cannot be uploaded. Please fix it.

Allow alternative iOS storage for photos / videos
When taking a photo via the Mattermost application, it defaults to saving the photo to the camera roll which will then get backed up to iCloud. In most cases is awesome. However, if you are looking to keep data separate, it would be nice if we had the option to have photos taken in the app, stay in the app.

IOS/Android local notifications
Use local notifications when the app is running or in background. I know that encrypted push notifications are supported when using the enterprise version, but it would be very handy if the app would support local notifications when running in background or foreground for new messages.
This creates the ability to use the app without sending data around the world.327 votes -
Private metadata on mobile notifications
My organization is using Mattermost heavily, and we'd like to receive mobile notifications to make it more useful. However, currently Mattermost shares a lot of metadata with Apple's and Google's servers:
This is preventing us from enabling notifications.
I'd like to suggest that you treat the Apple and Google push notification services just as a "wake up" signal, without including user ID, team ID, etc. The mobile app would then connect (via TLS) to its server, download any new messages, and generate local notifications based on those.
I recently spoke with someone on the Mattermost team who suggested that…
