  3. Add badge for new messages that's visible in a pinned tab.

    When you've pinned a tab on your browser the badge that appears to show new messages within the client isn't visible. At best you have to hover to see a (*) that denotes new messages.

    There should be an immediately visible badge on a pinned tab for unread messages.

  4. Show nicknames on each line while in compact mode

    There should be an option to show the nickname on each line, when using compact mode. As a long-time IRC user, I expect to have the name repeated on each line.
    This is specially annoying when the "New Messages" marker shows, where it should ALWAYS show the name in the line following the marker.

    Currently only BMP, JPG and PNG are supported (message: Upload a picture in BMP, JPG or PNG format. Maximum file size: 50MB)

    iOS and Android apps should allow users to bypass certificate warning. Some of us don't have proper certs and use the application for small teams, and don't have the resources to get proper web certificates.

  8. Make search results accessible via a URL

    It would be handy if search results were dereferencable via a URL.

    Not all communications in our org are done via MatterMost (email is still popular) and I would like the ability to link to search results via a URL such as https://mattermost.org.com/search/search-term

    This would enable me to refer to (ever-changing) search results from places external to MatterMost.

  9. Show all threads in one place

    Option to show all threads in which a user participates in one place. Ask from Startup School.

    Note: By default mention notifications for threads aren't turned on, maybe we should default them to on to see to what extent this helps.

  10. Visual effect to separate private chats from channels

    I'd like to somehow tune the color scheme of the Mattermost to separate private chats from channels. First idea that I got my mind is that maybe there could be an option to set a different background color for private conversations?

  11. Integrate mattermost with asterisk

    I wish I could somehow have someone use an asterisk pbx and integrate it with asterisk. This way, if I click on a user, and they are available OK their soft phone installed on their mobile which connected to the asterisk pbx, I could call them. If they are already on their computer, I believe the latest version of mattermost would allow me to speak to them via chrome (webrtc). However, it would be nice to integrate an open source pbx with mattermost.

  12. An External Apps Marketplace.

    The idea would be to create a standard bridge and a marketplace to integrate with Mattermost external applications.
    It could be a calendar (like in an other idea) or files management systems, gantt ... or many useful apps, based on the oauth2 authentication of Mattermost

  13. Add turnkey support for Auth0 as an identity provider

    As described at https://forum.mattermost.org/t/auth0-single-sign-on/6728

    As a mattermost administrator, I want to be able to configure authentication with Auth0 as an identity provider. Auth0 supports a variety of standards, so it might be best to implement it as OpenID Connect.

  14. Text-to-speech accessibility support for at least one client interface if not all

    The Mac OS/X Desktop Client for Mattermost has never supported text-to-speech with would make my interaction as a low vision (legally blind) user much easier. Until recently, I was able to at least get that functionality in the web-based interface with Chrome but that is also no longer working. I can't even set up the iphone app because the first step of entering the server is incompatible with Voice Over. If I was totally blind, I couldn't use the application at all. The only reason I use it is for work as my employer has adopted it as our enterprise…

  15. Make 'reply to last message in a channel' a default option

    Enable the ability for a user org/admin to make 'reply to the last message in a channel' the default option when starting a new message, so threads are the default for a conversation. This could perhaps also be optionally limited to replies that explicitly start with or contain an 'at-mention' of the handle of the creator of the original post.

  17. Channel modes

    We tend to use the channels in two different ways. Some channels are for chat; a stream of short messages. Other channels have more in-depth messages (like explanations, articles, meeting notes, etc.). In those latter channels, to communication focuses less on a single stream, and more on the replies.

    Currently Mattermost solely focuses on chat streams (chat mode), having replies as an option (literally on the side).

    I want to suggest an extra mode: topic mode. It differs from the chat mode in the sense that:
    - The main might only show the topics (first level messages), not the replies.…

  19. Privacy option to disable disclosure of online presence

    I would like options to control all the possible ways that my online presence can be disclosed by Mattermost, including:

    1) any kind of online status indication

    2) any kind of idle/away status indication (not sure if this exists today)

    3) the indication to others that I am typing

    Sometimes, users prefer to lurk... that means not revealing any kind of online presence.
