An error occurred while saving the comment One of our community members launched the RHEL/CentOS 8 edition of harbottle-main YUM/DNF/RPM repository. One of the things packaged is the Mattermost Server.
We’d love to hear feedback from you! Docs are available at https://gitlab.com/harbottle/harbottle-main/blob/master/docs/mattermost-server.md

An error occurred while saving the comment Thanks everyone for the suggestion. It would be very helpful if you can share what environment you're using:
1. Desktop app, or which browser
2. Mac/Linux/Windows, and what versionIt seems that some newer operating systems (such as Windows 10) have built in ways to handle notifications. So if you can share what you're currently using, it will help us better understand where the gaps are.

- French
- German
- Portuguese (BR)

An error occurred while saving the comment We'd love to have more languages for our spellchecker on the Desktop App.
We just received a contribution for Brazilian Portuguese (pt_BR): https://github.com/mattermost/desktop/pull/843
If anyone would like to help add another language, let us know here, or by joining our community instance at https://pre-release.mattermost.com.

An error occurred while saving the comment Thanks for the feedback Ismael! An alternative approach for getting notifications behind a firewall is self-hosting a push proxy. Here's how:

An error occurred while saving the comment Thank you for the suggestion! We added team icons in Mattermost 4.9, is that helpful for distinguishing between teams?

An error occurred while saving the comment Hey Uday, thanks for the suggestion.
Is the team invite link intended for new users in the system, or for existing users who you would like to add to a private team?
If it's the second, there is an "Add Members to Team" option below "Send Email Invite" that allows you to quickly add existing members to a private team. https://docs.mattermost.com/help/getting-started/managing-members.html#adding-someone-to-your-team

An error occurred while saving the comment Highly appreciate the feedback. Mattermost also supports team icons to more easily distinguish teams: https://docs.mattermost.com/help/settings/team-settings.html#team-icon
An error occurred while saving the comment Thanks for the feedback! How many teams/groups do you belong to?
Hovering over the team icon gives you the full name, is that helpful?

An error occurred while saving the comment Great feedback Ikraav! We just created a design spec that's in progress.
Would you be interested reviewing and sharing feedback? You should have access to add comments in the document, or you can share it here if that's easier.
Others in the community are welcome to share feedback as well!
An error occurred while saving the comment Hi Ikraav, thanks for the note. Have you entered multiple server URLs in your desktop app?
Right now the CMD/CTLR+number works for different Mattermost servers, not teams. But we've considered changing it to apply to teams instead.

An error occurred while saving the comment Hey Matthieu! If you hover over a direct message in your channel list (on the left side), you can click on the "x" to remove it from your sidebar.
Is that helpful?
There is also a setting to automatically close direct message channels from the sidebar after no activity, which your System Admin can turn on: https://docs.mattermost.com/administration/config-settings.html#autoclose-direct-messages-in-sidebar-experimental

Work on this feature has begun! Big thanks to @kkekkonen for starting the effort.
If anyone would be interested testing it, you can help out here: https://github.com/mattermost/mattermost-server/pull/9165
PS: Previous update incorrectly mentioned that this an Enterprise Edition feature.
An error occurred while saving the comment Very interesting! Thanks for sharing these Kaarlo.
Would you be interested joining https://pre-release.mattermost.com, which is a public server for Mattermost community and staff?
It would be great to get you in touch with some of our team members and see if it makes sense to have this feature in the product as well. I think there's been some discussion about moving conversations in Mattermost.
An error occurred while saving the comment That's interesting Kaarlo! Is it built-in a Mattermost fork or implemented via a plugin?

An error occurred while saving the comment Thanks for the feedback Luis! Within a team, do you mean there would be a set of channels that would be grouped under a "Project" category?

An error occurred while saving the comment Hi Florian - you can disable getting notifications for at-channel mentions globally in Account Settings > Notifications > Words that trigger mentions.
We had a project to build an Apple Watch app, but it seems it got abandoned as there was apparently a way to receive and reply to notifications from the Apple Watch without an app.
However, after the project stopped, there wasn't a new one started.
Does anyone in community have guidance (or interest) in how to add the ability to reply to Apple Watch notifications after they are received?
