  1. Add a system console option to set whether team admins can make a team open

    Currently there is an option to restrict team creation. It would be nice to have the option where we let team admins create teams, but restrict open teams to system admins only

  2. Limit matches for @ completion to users in the active channel

    With a mattermost setup with hundreds of users, you get a lot of username matches when you type @, however if you're in a channel with only a small subset of the hundred users, you still need to narrow down the list by typing in more characters than necessary to match the name you want. For improved efficiency the list of users to match against shoulld be limited to the users currently on the channel.

    This limit should of course not be applied if you are doing /msg @someone, and possibly not even when you mention @someone somewhere inside your…

  3. no character length of name when display is set to "real name"

    Now it is set to 24(?)

    For example "Mansoor Nahasapeemapetilon" would be displayed as "Mansoor Nahasapeemapetil..."

    There is enough space to display the whole name.

  4. Make build process easier

    At the moment you have to configure the build environment to build the package. I'd suggest to create one script which will do the job without any configuration on almost all Linux environments.

  5. A way to tell web hook is coming from matter most.

    I hate having to have multiple repos, one for slack and one for mattermost. Would be nice if post coming in would tell me it's coming from mattermost.

  6. iOS horizontal support on iPhones

    I would like to add horizontal support to the iOS iPhone application in order to make viewing code snippets a bit more user friendly.

    I have implemented the change already, but need a ticket to create a pull request.

  7. Welcome message for new users

    It will be nice that upon entering a team, a welcome message is displayed to that user. Message can be composed on the Team Settings or perhaps in the console.
    In the message an admin can point out custom slash commands or any new feature that needs to be highlighted.
    User can save the message (just like any other) for future reference is desired.

  8. CTRL+F performs a browser-like search in the desktop app

    One missing piece in the desktop apps is CTRL+F browser-like search.

    There is a plan to implement 'search in current channel' (https://github.com/mattermost/desktop/issues/305), but implementing the browser-like find feature is closer to the web app experience

  9. import multiple slack communities at once

    I am on over 20 Slack communities. Adding each one one at a time to my mattermost apps will be slow and error prone.

    Add a way to read my config from running slack apps, and/or discover all the slack communities a given email address is a member of, and import them all at once to the Mattermost apps.

  11. Allow Mattermost Zapier app posts to contain PDF attachments

    Currently Mattermost doesn't support file attachments in Zapier posts, This can be useful when using the Zapier app to generate automated posts containing PDF files.

    This feature is also supported by HipChat and Slack, so it would be nice to see Mattermost support it as well.

    You should also avoid other typographical mistakes like n-dashes (–) and ellipsis (…) characters.

  13. Make switch channel more intuitive

    If I open the switch channel dialog and begin to type the beginning of a name for which several entries exist, then this list is ordered alphabetically and does not take into account open chats with people.

    This feature is only useful if you want to speed up navigation. I expect the dialog to show open chats before others so you dont have to navigate in the list to select the correct entry.

  14. open the emoji picker with typing ":", followed by pressing Tab

    I'd really like to see the emoji picker that can be activated as described in the title, instead of the ":" followed by minimum of 2 characters as it is at the moment.
    I'm aware of the full picker ticket https://mattermost.atlassian.net/browse/PLT-2354, but as i understand it doesn't include this feature.

  16. EE: Legal notice presentation for system, team and channels

    Similar to Custom intro text for systems, teams and channels (https://mattermost.uservoice.com/forums/306457-general/suggestions/18595492-custom-intro-text-for-system-team-and-channels) this EE feature would be to enable the presentation of legal notices, formatted in markdown, by clicking an "I agree" button, instead of a "I do not agree" button (which would deny access to the system, team or channel on which the legal agreement is attached.

    There needs to be a PRINT button to print the agreement, and a DOWNLOAD button to download a copy as a text file (in markdown, which is readable).

    A full text record of the agreement at the time of acceptance should…

  17. I would like to se the more.. moved to top of user list under direct messages or make a search box directly under the DIRECT MESSAGES..

    as in subject moving the clickable more.. under the direct messages to be on top of the users in your list or make a search box directly under the headline..

    starting to get osme users there now and getting somewhat annoying to scroll down all the time for PM a new user..

  20. Switch between last two channels with key combination (like "PRE-CH" on TV remotes)

    One may find the need to (ideally quickly) switch between the same two (or n) channels, similar to how one can do it with TV channels via the "PRE-CH" button on TV remotes.

    It would be great to have a key combination for that.
