I suggest a way to make the newly received messages more prominent and pronounced.

The reason here is that my father has some issues in reading and quickly overreads new messages except for the very last one. I thought if it was ideally possible to put a e.g. reddish background to all new messages the same way as there is a tiny line with the text new message. I am thinking if such a background similar to the light gray one behind a self written message. Maybe a bit more prominent.

Also as a person suffering color vision deficiency some of the predefined colors are not ideal. This is maybe also a god idea to make the colors either customable or to introduce a high contrast mode per-user at least.
