Snooze channel for 1h, 8hrs or 24hhrs
It would be nice to be able to mute a channel for a set period of time then it automatically unmute itself. Facebook Messenger has a similar feature called Snooze.

Add Preview Functionality to Boards
If you open a document in a channel, you are able to preview it. It would be great to add that functionality to documents posted in Boards!

Provide an alternative to websockets for updates
Websockets don't work properly behind a squid proxy. It would be great to have a swap-in replacement for them that doesn't require patching Mattermost! Currently we cannot use Mattermost because of this issue, even though the installation itself is fine, because we're keeping it internal to the VPN that squid is running on.

improve profile images by offering arbitrary size with cropping/centering
from https://github.com/mattermost/platform/issues/1981, Currently you have to click a button in order to select and image, and it has to be a rectangular image already. Instead, it makes sense to do things more like twitter or flickr, where you can either click-to-browse or just drag-and-drop an image onto the UI, and then the UI gives you the option to crop and scale, so you can pick any image and then just select the rectangular subsection you want to have act as your profile picture.

Offensive Words Filter
In a professional environment, it would not be polite to allow some kind of language specially in open channels. It would be very useful for admins to handle a small database of words not permitted in their channel and a filter that replaces the "offending words" for symbols or other words defined by them.

Add more colors of notification dots, and let users set a color for each channel
This will make MM much less distracting since it's easier to ignore chatter on "less important" channels.

Adjustable Email Notifications for only mentions or only direct messages
Currently Email Notifications are sent out on either a mention or a direct message. Our users asked for the feature to decide weather to have notifications only for mentions, only for DMs or for both.

CMD/CTRL+K should allow to switch to conversation from other team
When you are part of two or more team and you have unread channel in another team you've currently selected, you can not switch to it with CMD/CTRL+K. Since there is no keyboard shortcut to switch team (already discussed in various place), this would be nice to display the conversation from the other team in the conversation selection popup!

Create the option to show the entire message in notifications.
It would be great if I can enable the option to show the entire message in notifications. Currently only the beginning of the message is passed to notification system.

Desktop app: Ability to find a permalink
There is no way to navigate to a permalink (the way I can in a browser address bar). This makes collaborating with inbound traffic (e.g. a reference in an email) very hard, I end up switching to a browser. (I realize this might be borderline feature request, but the lack of handling is specific to this client, or my ignorance of how to use it.)

- Switch to different channel, same team
- Paste full link (or just token ID) into search

Restrict BigBlueButton to allowed users
As of now, mattermost custom integration plugin is available to all users on Team edition. It will be good if there is a restriction like "personal access token" can be enabled for particular users.

Render percent encoding to readable characters in links pasted into chat
When pasted into chat, render percent-encoded URLs into readable characters.
i.e. instead of displaying https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%93%D0%B5%D0%BE%D0%B3%D1%80%D0%B0%D1%84%D0%B8%D1%87%D0%B5%D1%81%D0%BA%D0%B8%D0%B5_%D0%BA%D0%BE%D0%BE%D1%80%D0%B4%D0%B8%D0%BD%D0%B0%D1%82%D1%8B

Please add the function of the jira plugin to create subscriptions for Subtasks, and not just for standard issue types.

Add per-channel email notification controls
Similar to per-channel desktop notification controls, I'd like the option to disable email notifications on a per channel basis. A good use case for this is our Git repo web hook: I don't need an email telling me I pushed commits to the repository (currently the author name generates a mention notification).

Demo site
There should be a demo site with fake data.
Screen shots are nice, but to set up the app and then discover it's not for you, is a hassle.
