    There should be a demo site with fake data.

    Screen shots are nice, but to set up the app and then discover it's not for you, is a hassle.

  4. Try to use less CPU / energy in native Mac App

    Right now the Mattermost native Mac app is using a lot of CPU, pretty consistently over 10%, which seems really high for an app of this type. What could it possibly be doing to use that much CPU? The energy impact is almost up there with known battery drainers like Chrome and Firefox. I know it's a beta, so please consider this some beta-user feedback. Thanks!

  6. Allow message attachments to generate mentions

    SUMMARY

    Notifications are not being generated for user names in message attachments (in my case specifically in fields) that are generated via a webhook.

    STEPS TO REPRODUCE

    Create a new message containing attachments/fields via a web hook. Include the name of the user in the attachment field. The name will not be recognized and tagged.

    EXPECTED BEHAVIOUR

    Mattermost would recognize a user's name, as defined in their notification preferences, when mentioned in a message that has an attachment/fields. Notifications would be generated for the user the same as if they are mentioned in a regular message.

  7. Linux desktop app: start hidden in tray without creating window itself

    Instead of creating the application and minimizing it application start must be done without creating window itself.

  8. Ability to receive notifications for muted channel

    I would like to configure a channel to receive mobile/desktop app notifications when I am mentioned, but no badge on a channel/app icon when I am not mentioned.

  9. Desktop app: "Copy image" on images shown in channels

    Provide a "copy image" option that copies an image shown in a channel. In comparison, in the web app the "Copy image" is also available, as it is part of the standard Chrome menu for images.

  10. Automatically join consecutive messages from the same person

    For threading purposes it'd be great if consecutive messages from the same person (maybe within some time window like 10 minutes) would be counted as a single message.

    We use mattermost for an internal support chat and very often we get stuff like

    "Hi!"
    "I have this issue with the fronk, for customer Acme"

    "Could someone take a look?"

    You can't reply to any of those messages without losing crucial information in the thread.

    as a Project Manager/ Product Owner we need integration with Pivotal Tracker Project Management tool as follows, If Possible

    • At certain time in the morning, developer get lists of task ID, task type (feature, bug, chore), person who write task, and summaries description about task were assigned to them
    • Developer can update task by fills in data like Task ID #xxxx, Status, Comment. (if Task Status equal Deliver, developer can fill Pull request / Branch)
    • Developer get notified if someone mentioned them in the Task Comment, and they can reply the comment (developer can view task ID and some description)

  12. Have the options for Team Edition to be able to restrict team invites

    Currently, the option to restrict who can send team invites are only available for E10 and E20 editions of Mattermost.

    Not having this functionality in the Team Editions of Mattemost can cause their instances to be potentially insecure as anyone can send out these invite links.

    iOS Timeout/Logout Notification

    Based on being automatically logged out every 3 days; it has been a consistent problem having people recognize when they are no longer on and thus not receiving messages (iPhones wise at least). This has already been implemented for Android CAO 2018 according to the search bar.

  14. Allow aliases for custom emojis

    The name field of custom emoji only allows a single word, whereas system emojis have multiple aliases. Would be good if name could be provided as a comma-separated list to be used as aliases, internally.

  15. Server-wide categories for your sidebar

    The new feature "costume category" gives the option to re-sort your channels and also Direct Messages.
    It would be great if that would work Server-wide and not only Team-wide.
    Exspecially for Direct Messages it would help to be able to sort them. It could work like the "Favorite" which is also server-wide.
    It could also be an option to have it server-wide optional by a setting

  18. Draw.io Integration

    Similar to Boards, it would be advantageous to have the ability to draw charts collaboratively with the rest of the team within the MM app. Draw.io is an open source software with permissive licensing so it wouldn't be too much work to implement this feature relatively quickly.

  20. extend the "Manage Members" console to delete and configure a users profile

    In some cases it could happen that a profile is broken or an administrator wants to completely remove a user from the system. (one example could be that an account was hacked an the system was fully spammed with senseless messages. Another example could be a test user and its messages).
    An administrator should therefore be able to completely remove all arrears of such a users from the system. Furthermore he should be able to manage a user Profile to be able to disable notifications as an attendee or insert Profile Pictures to accounts.
