Restore should be in Team edition or Channel delete in Team edition should be permanent
If i delete a channel i cannot create a new one with same name. nor can i restore the previous channel without enterprise edition.
I suggest to move feature of restoring to Team edition. Alternatively make channel deletions permanent so another channel with same name can be created.

Change email notification behavior
Right now, if I only use the browser and switch to different tabs my status changes from green to yellow. If someone sends me a direct message, I receive an email. That's annoying. I don't want to disable email notification as a whole. It makes much more sense to only send emails about messages I received while I was offline.

Add option to set Avatar size
Currently the avatar size is around 32px.
My test users are hoping it could be bigger so as to recognize people easily.
I did a local test and increasing the size to 50px+ would not affect the layout and is indeed easier to find people.

possibility to re-link uploaded images
When you upload or drag'n'drop an image to mattermost, that image gains a new name that does not end with an image extension, thus if you try to "copy image location" or use the "copy public link" from mattermost their will give u a link that you can paste back to matter most to re-link the image in a preview mode.

As you can see neither end with a image extension and so if I simple paste it back in a message it will…

Allow to create a private Slash commands (only available for one user)
It could be interesting to add per user slash command.
For example, I use an RSS integration which allow me to manage my RSS feeds from Mattermost with Slash commands. I would like to set this command as private, to avoid other user to manage my feeds.3 votes -
Add Reply-To header to email notifications of direct messages
If notification has only direct messages from single sender, add Reply-To with sender's email.

Set policy for password history
A companies security policy often has rules stating that a password may not be reused. To facilitate this many applications have a feature that allows the administrator to state how many passwords the application should remember until a password can be reused. Think, for example, a maximum of 10 password that the application must remember.

Include channel creation and management restrictions in team edition
I know these features were left out of Team Edition to keep it simple, but these options are present in the config.json file.
Enabling this features from just the config.json file would keep the team edition ui simple, but give smaller teams the same ability to control the whims of their users

Disable notifications functionality for defined period of time
As a user I want to deactivate Mattermost notifications in my windows desktop application for a defined period of time. After this period the notifications will be shown as before.
I can predefine in the period in the setings.

Invite users ignoring white list
We are using mattermost at our university and have a whitelist set-up so only people from our university can join. However some teams have indicated they want to cooperate with others who are not officially affiliated with our university and thus have no university e-mail address.
We would like an option for sysadmins to invite these users to the server.

EE: Provide controls for creation of public and private channels at the team level
The global channel settings aren't flexible enough create teams with differing levels of channel security. Please consider adding the public & private channel settings at the team level.
Simplistic example:
Team A: invite only with the creation of public rooms disabled Team B: public team, with the creation of public rooms enabled Team C: public room with the creation of public rooms disabled3 votes -
Add a font which is readable without Anti Aliasing
With release v4.0 release (July 16, 2017) the ability to choose fonts was removed. The one and only font (Open Sans) is quite unreadable if Anti Aliasing is switched off. Please think about people with handicaps which cannot use Anti Aliasing because of their eyes.
Please add at least one font (as Arial or Ubuntu from pre 4.0) or provide a simple description of how someone can do this for a local installation.

add the ability to preview messages, or a larger editor in the RHB
It would be really great to be able to have a preview of a message before it's sent. Putting a full-size, WYSIWYG-able editor available in the right-hand bar would make it easier to compose longer messages, especially if you need to reference other posts inside of Mattermost.

Update Pinned Posts Panel switching between channels
Want to have pinned posts panel to dynamically change when switching between channels to show the pinned posts in that specific channel. Currently you'd have to unselect and then reselect pinned posts to update it everytime you change channel

Clear cache automatically at set time or do not cache data on Desktop client
On Windows, conversations are cached locally on the desktop client under the Roaming/Mattermost/Cache folder. These cache files contain sensitive information from conversations in the desktop app. I would like an option in the desktop client to either 1) disable cache completely or 2) clear the full cache on a regularly scheduled timeframe (ex. every 6 hours). Disabling cache is better as it makes sure that the conversation isn't saved to the local file system. This is important for projects that do not want any sensitive conversations available outside of Mattermost.

Mention notifications should differentiate between “mention you” and “mentioned all”
This seems like an almost fatal flaw. I hope it can be implemented soon as it doesn’t seem like a major project!

Add a text display feature to off/on the auto-collapsed（Show More Link）
“If it includes more than 300 characters or more than 5 line breaks, the message will be collapsed and a “Show More” link will be added to expand the message.”
This Message Attachments rule is not good for quick reading.You must click the "Show More" link again and agian to read a lot of long texts.So would you mind adding a feature to off/on This?
