  1. Allow users to signup without invite and also join team without invite

    When open server is enabled, users can signup without invite. However when they signup they are allowed to create team, so I disabled it. Now when they sign up there is nothing. How about let them send request to join teams, and administrators can confirm.

  2. Disable taskbar badge for specified channel(s), but keep channel name in bold for unread general messages

    In the notification preferences for a channel (probably under Mark Channel Unread), I'd like to have the ability to disable the application icon badge in the taskbar unless someone mentions me or the whole channel, while still keeping the channel name in bold for any general messages.

    That way, when I open the app, I can see which channels have general messages for me to catch up on (b/c the channel name will be in bold), but I don't get drawn to the app by taskbar icon badges for channels that I don't want to be notified about while I'm…

  4. Desktop: Auto-hide menubar on Linux

    Most Electron apps on Linux have an option to autohide the menubar, typically in the View or Window menus. Mattermost would fit in better if it did, too.

  5. implement a ChannelWillBeCreated hook for plugins

    Implementing a ChannelWillBeCreated hook would allow plugins to react to new channel creation events and should make it possible to deny creating new channels and/or to trigger external services (like provisioning of a bot) when new channels are created.

  9. transform message to into an answer to message above

    people are often sloppy in using answers to messages and just type it to the channel when it should be an answer to the message above.
    I propose a button visible to the author and admins that allows to transform a message into an answer to the message above.
    I hope it'll help to create more consistency in the usage of the answer/thread feature.

  11. Generate different public URL domain for sharing the static files with externals

    Hello,

    I have installed the mattermost in subdomain eg. chat.example.com. And when I generate the public URL it provides the URL from this domain.

    But I don’t want to share the URL of my mattermost application with external users so how can I generate the URL from a different domain. I can set the alias of the mattermost installed domain to files.example.com but this URL should generate for all users accounts who are the members of my mattermost application.

    Means on generating the public URL of files it should show the different domain instead of mattermost most installed application domain.

  12. Separate Teams from each other

    Different Teams can see all other Mattermost members via “Add new members to team” link. Even worse they can even add other teams members as regular user.

    Expected behavior

    Teams are meant to seperate Accounts.
    A regular User should not have the privilege to see all other server members nor to invite them.
    Observed behavior

    ALL Users are visible as non privileged user.
    ALL User can be invited as non privileged user.

  13. Interface changes for view users present in channel and their status

    We all know that the Mattermost interface shows the Channel names in the left sidebar. We have been thinking that the users in that channel should be listed in the left sidebar under that particular channel name with an Expand/Collapse icon/button. If we expand, we should know the user’s status as offline/available, etc.

    Just like we have tumbnails on pictures. helping us identify what we are looking for without having to open the preview tool.

  15. Allow admin to invite users without allowing others to do so

    Currently there seems to be only a global configuration option whether to allow email invites to be sent to users. When this is turned on, everyone can send email invites. I'd like to be able to send email invites as admin without allowing all members to send email invites. Currently I have to turn the feature on, invite someone, then turn it off again.

  16. More events support for Mattermost Webhooks

    I would like to see more support for Jira events for Mattermost Webhooks, other than just; Issue: Created, Updated and Deleted

  18. Adding users to group DM should provide an option to keep history

    When you have a multi user direct message and you add new members (as a conversation grows to need more people) you end up creating a new DM with no history. Instead mattermost should provide an option to keep the history available.

  20. IOS/Android local notifications

    Use local notifications when the app is running or in background. I know that encrypted push notifications are supported when using the enterprise version, but it would be very handy if the app would support local notifications when running in background or foreground for new messages.
    This creates the ability to use the app without sending data around the world.
