  1. Enable a setting to allow sound alerts on a channel basis

    I love that I can get notified when there is a post with a sound. But we have a community channel that a huge number of people belong to where things are discussed that I'm not interested in. I was added to the channel by my boss, and think it would be rude to disconnect. But if I could just turn off the notifications for that channel then I wouldn't be so distracted looking at many many notifications that have nothing to do with me and my work.   2. Mattermost - Dropbox Integration

    As of now, the integration between Mattermost and Dropbox relies on third party setup such as Zapier and Integromat:

    It will be great to have a built in plugin to perform this functionality. For example, send a notification to a channel / direct message when a file is uploaded.

  3. Allow SVG as custom emoji

    Allow the user to upload SVGs as custom emoji

    currently only PNG, JPG and GIF are allowed. But when I tried to upload an SVG the Preview rendered, but the saving was not possible because of file extension limitations.

  4. Add support for CSS themes

    I'm not happy with the current theme system. We can change only colors, but I would like to change a bit everything, to get something looking for instance like The Lounge:

    It would be quite easy if we could upload a piece of CSS based on a few class selectors. Like:

    Make history of last channels with part of last message on CTRL+K window. Because when you have many chat channels, it becomes difficult to navigate between them and remember where was your last important conversation.

  6. Make the user inactive when the user does not belong to a team

    By default, when a user connects to Mattermost, the user gets the "active" status even if the user does not belong to a team.
    Is it possible set the status to "inactive" when the user does not yet belong to a team ?

  7. Login with LDAP & SAML

    I would like to have the ability that a user can connect with LDAP and SAML. It means that the user could have two sign-in methods.
    We have a case that could be solved with this new feature.

  8. Prevent hashtags in code blocks from being counted as hashtags

    Whilst hashtags in code blocks are not highlighted blue and clickable, they do appear in a search for that hashtag and are treated as actualy uses of that hashtag on the back end.

    This causes issues as many code blocks inevitably have hashtags delineating comments.

    Ideally they should be ignored completely, but I reckon the behaviour should at least be consistent.

  10. Image proxy support for normal proxy servers

    Mattermost image proxy supports atmos/camo Image Proxy and local image proxy. Support should be added for normal proxies that one would set via HTTPSPROXY environment variable. I need images to go through a proxy but I don't want to see HTTPSPROXY for entire application.

  14. Using Mattermost as my only chat client.

    I like Mattermost client, it's way better than anything else out there.
    I want to manage my Facebook messages inside Mattermost client, and I want to connect to an IRC which has nothing to do with my corporation.

    So I want to mess my private life with work, but I would be very happy about this.

    There were trials, for example, libpurple with Pidgin chat client. But Pidgin is like using windows live messenger in 2020.

    I know Facebook Messenger has no public protocol for that, so I'm not requesting to implement that, but provide, for example, IRC, libpurple protocols…

  15. "Hot Unread": Highlight channels with recent activity

    "Unread" on its own isn't always useful.

    I watch close to 100 channels. Many of the channels are in a permanent unread state because they're not critical. What I'd really like to know is which channels have recent activity (say within the last hour) so I can jump into an active conversation.

    This doesn't replace "Unread", but would be an elevated state, like "Hot Unread". After a period of time, it then falls back to "Unread"

  16. restrict attachments by channel or by team

    There should be an option to restrict file upload by channel or even by team globally.

    Currently if I disable file upload, it will be disable for all the teams and all the channels...

  17. Admins should be able to clear or hide the history of a channel.

    Sometimes I want to add new users to a channel, but I don't want them to see the messaging history. As an admin, I could have the right to delete the history of the chosen channel, or at least have the option to hide the history when new users join.

  19. Have less subtle new message alerts in the Notification Area

    So i have the MatterMost app on Windows. I dislike clutter on my taskbar and having too many windows open, so I have it minimised to a notification area icon most of the time.

    The notification area icon looks nice, it's little a white circle inside a circle, and the colour and design matches various other Windows 10 taskbar icons. Very neat and tidy.

    However, I think that this aesthetic is not as important as knowing that I have a new message.

  20. Mattermost and Atlassian JIRA

    Hi all,

    we would like to have a button in our Confluence System (onprem) like a "share with Mattermost" button so that users easily can share their spaces with a mattermost team or channel.

    I know that there is a plugin "slack for mattermost" that is compatible with MM, but thats "only" the integration, not a button.
