  1. How to change the Notification Sound in Mobile and Desktop?

    Hello,

    I am using Mattermost Android app to receive notification and messages. But it is very confusing to distinguish between other notification and Mattermost notification.

    It takes the default notification tone of mobile and desktop.

    Please provide the option to change the notification sound or if there is any method to do that then please let me know.

    There are :copyright:, :registered: and :tm: emojis, but no copyleft, creativecommons or public domain ones ...
    A pity, considering Mattermost is open-source itself !

  4. Mobile app : detect team URLs correctly

    When entering the URL in the mobile app, if you include the team name in the URL, it will return an error.

    For example, http://test.mattermost.com/mytest will return an error, as it only recognizes the server URL and will only accept http://test.mattermost.com.

    The app should either directly redirect the user to the relevant team after logging in, or recognize the server URL regardless of the team URL and log the user into the default team.

  5. Allow alternative iOS storage for photos / videos

    When taking a photo via the Mattermost application, it defaults to saving the photo to the camera roll which will then get backed up to iCloud. In most cases is awesome. However, if you are looking to keep data separate, it would be nice if we had the option to have photos taken in the app, stay in the app.

    In the current setup the mobile app is ignoring the custom markdown dimension parameters for images.

  7. Add a button to scroll all the way to first new message

    When rejoining a conversation after many new messages have been posted, if you want to catch up on what you missed, you have to scroll up to the top, click the 'load more messages' button, scroll up to the top, click 'load more messages, ad nauseum, till eventually you reach a point where the "New Messages" line is no longer at the top, then scroll back down till you find the "New Messages" line again.

    I think it would be very useful if there was a button (I would name it "load new messages") that appeared along with the 'load…

  8. Show the connection status instead of just providing an error message

    When the client goes offline, which is common when laptops suspend or for corporate implementations where a VPN is required to access the server, the only feedback provided is that the server can't be reached and to get help. This is not only not an appropriate message in this case but the message stays on the screen even after the connection is re-established. Instead of showing a disconnection message I propose replacing it with a connection state indicator. Ideally when the client is offline it will obvious (like changing the color of the window) but I won't be able to…

    In additional @all and @channel, there should be an @timezone to message all users in the poster's timezone.

  10. Automatically join consecutive messages from the same person

    For threading purposes it'd be great if consecutive messages from the same person (maybe within some time window like 10 minutes) would be counted as a single message.

    We use mattermost for an internal support chat and very often we get stuff like

    "Hi!"
    "I have this issue with the fronk, for customer Acme"

    "Could someone take a look?"

    You can't reply to any of those messages without losing crucial information in the thread.

  11. Desktop notification: allow hiding text

    As it's possible for mobile notification, for privacy reasons it would be great to have an option to hide message text in desktop notification.

    One should be able to show:
    * full notification: channel and message text
    * partial notification: channel but HIDDEN text
    * essential notification: just "you have new messages"

  12. Allow certificate errors to be permanently ignored

    Having bad admins that make errors during the creation of certificates is silly. However, not being able to override their silly mistakes while they fail to address the issue over the course of months is aggravating. Although the issue will be eventually addressed, every time I open up mattermost, I get an invalid certificate error which I have to manually dismiss. I would really like to dismiss this permanently so that I don't have to deal with the extra 3 clicks every time I open up the application.

  13. Prevent hashtags in code blocks from being counted as hashtags

    Whilst hashtags in code blocks are not highlighted blue and clickable, they do appear in a search for that hashtag and are treated as actualy uses of that hashtag on the back end.

    This causes issues as many code blocks inevitably have hashtags delineating comments.

    Ideally they should be ignored completely, but I reckon the behaviour should at least be consistent.

  14. Login with LDAP & SAML

    I would like to have the ability that a user can connect with LDAP and SAML. It means that the user could have two sign-in methods.
    We have a case that could be solved with this new feature.

  16. Make the user inactive when the user does not belong to a team

    By default, when a user connects to Mattermost, the user gets the "active" status even if the user does not belong to a team.
    Is it possible set the status to "inactive" when the user does not yet belong to a team ?

    In Windows, when you make a right-click on the notification tray icon, it would be nice to add a "Change status" option to switch easily between online, away, or busy.

  19. Integrating OneDrive for media storage

    Instead of Amazon S3, being able to use MS OneDrive for media storage.

    This would be great for companies who have this large amount of storage essentially 'free' with their Office 365 accounts rather than spending for S3 storage.

  20. Combine messages from same user into one message

    This was completed before:

    But it looks like it only works in the full view when the left blue sidebar with channels is showing, not when the window is smaller and hides the sidebar.
