  1. Make guest accounts expire after a set period of time

    Currently guest accounts are permanent until removed by the admins.

    It would be more convenient and secure if guest accounts have an automatic expiry date after a certain period of time.

  2. Configurable desktop notifications duration

    Mattermost is intended to be team collaboration and messaging tool.
    It functions fine when working with channels which are similar to forums or IRC channels.

    But when sending direct messages, the user experience is quite bad because desktop notifications disappear after 5 seconds and when user is concentrating to something else or is AFK he will miss the notification and doesn't know that someone is trying to reach him.

    It would be great if there was a configuration option where user can choose how long the notification should be displayed.

    This feature was already implemented in v3.4, but was removed…

  3. PDF Preview Issue

    When you select a PDF that has been posted to Mattermost, the preview is not at a readable size and it only shows the first 5 pages. As we use Mattermost to circulate confidential documents to our Advising and Dispute Resolution Committee, this isn’t ideal as folks would prefer to preview only and not download to their computers.

  5. Using Mattermost as my only chat client.

    I like Mattermost client, it's way better than anything else out there.
    I want to manage my Facebook messages inside Mattermost client, and I want to connect to an IRC which has nothing to do with my corporation.

    So I want to mess my private life with work, but I would be very happy about this.

    There were trials, for example, libpurple with Pidgin chat client. But Pidgin is like using windows live messenger in 2020.

    I know Facebook Messenger has no public protocol for that, so I'm not requesting to implement that, but provide, for example, IRC, libpurple protocols…

    Request Description:

    On Creation of a bot account via Mattermost Web UI, you won't be able to see the Bot ID. But when you create a BOT via Mattermost API, you will get an ID in response that's a BOTID. Hence, this request is for showing the BotID you get when creating a Bot Account via Mattermost UI.

    It would be great to have an integration with the osTicket platform to be able to receive notifications of new tickets or ticket updates.

    In addition, it would be even better to be able to send messages to the osTicket API to create new tickets.

  12. How to change the Notification Sound in Mobile and Desktop?

    Hello,

    I am using Mattermost Android app to receive notification and messages. But it is very confusing to distinguish between other notification and Mattermost notification.

    It takes the default notification tone of mobile and desktop.

    Please provide the option to change the notification sound or if there is any method to do that then please let me know.

  15. Mobile app : detect team URLs correctly

    When entering the URL in the mobile app, if you include the team name in the URL, it will return an error.

    For example, http://test.mattermost.com/mytest will return an error, as it only recognizes the server URL and will only accept http://test.mattermost.com.

    The app should either directly redirect the user to the relevant team after logging in, or recognize the server URL regardless of the team URL and log the user into the default team.

  16. Allow Webhooks to post to Reply Threads

    At the moment, the "comment" value for response_type will only trigger for the triggering message, even if that message is part of a thread. Maybe a value of "thread" can tell it to reply in the thread rather than creating another thread just to respond to the trigger message.

  17. Allow alternative iOS storage for photos / videos

    When taking a photo via the Mattermost application, it defaults to saving the photo to the camera roll which will then get backed up to iCloud. In most cases is awesome. However, if you are looking to keep data separate, it would be nice if we had the option to have photos taken in the app, stay in the app.

  19. Add a button to scroll all the way to first new message

    When rejoining a conversation after many new messages have been posted, if you want to catch up on what you missed, you have to scroll up to the top, click the 'load more messages' button, scroll up to the top, click 'load more messages, ad nauseum, till eventually you reach a point where the "New Messages" line is no longer at the top, then scroll back down till you find the "New Messages" line again.

    I think it would be very useful if there was a button (I would name it "load new messages") that appeared along with the 'load…

  20. Show the connection status instead of just providing an error message

    When the client goes offline, which is common when laptops suspend or for corporate implementations where a VPN is required to access the server, the only feedback provided is that the server can't be reached and to get help. This is not only not an appropriate message in this case but the message stays on the screen even after the connection is re-established. Instead of showing a disconnection message I propose replacing it with a connection state indicator. Ideally when the client is offline it will obvious (like changing the color of the window) but I won't be able to…
