  2. Create the possibility to make unread answers more prominent

    I suggest a way to make the newly received messages more prominent and pronounced.

    The reason here is that my father has some issues in reading and quickly overreads new messages except for the very last one. I thought if it was ideally possible to put a e.g. reddish background to all new messages the same way as there is a tiny line with the text new message.     I am thinking if such a background similar to the light gray one behind a self written message. Maybe a bit more prominent.

    I see the language dic (pl-PL.dic) file in simple-spell-checker-0.9.8.tgz

    but no action Polish (Polski) in Spelling Languages in app.

  4. Have the option to configure special/specific notification sounds based on keywords

    Currently it is not possible to have notifications triggered based on keywords, for example if there are any emergency keywords, a certain ringtone or vibration (or both) will be triggered.

    This would be important in the event of any emergency that requires immediate action.

  5. Use Keycloak as an IDP

    Keycloak is one of the most popular IDP providers used.

    It would be great it Keycloak could be supported as simple as other authentication providers based on the same technology.

  7. Have ability to close a channel without leaving it

    Currently it is not possible to 'close' a channel without leaving it, or remove it from the sidebar. This can be problematic when you are a part of many channels, especially private ones where you will need to be re-invited to it after leaving it. For example, I would still like to be part of a particular private channel in the event that something comes up, but I would like to have the option to close it/remove it from the sidebar to avoid clutter.

  8. transform message to into an answer to message above

    people are often sloppy in using answers to messages and just type it to the channel when it should be an answer to the message above.
    I propose a button visible to the author and admins that allows to transform a message into an answer to the message above.
    I hope it'll help to create more consistency in the usage of the answer/thread feature.

  16. When sharing something from mobile browser to the Mattermost app, it should remember the last channel shared to as the new default

    When you share something from the mobile browser to the Mattermost Android app, it does not remember the last channel that was shared to.

    For example, the Mattermost app defaults to channel A because that is the last used channel. When I share a link from the Chrome browser to Mattermost, it will default to channel A, but in this case I opted to share to channel B. The next time I share a link, it will still default to channel A despite my last share being to channel B.

  17. Automatic update for desktop client

    The Mattermost desktop client should automatically check for updates and prompt the user to update. This feature is mandatory in today's security landscape, even for an Electron app.

    Most of our users don't realize their desktop is many version out of date, with pending security fixes.

    Bonus points for shipping builds via the Windows Store, macOS App Store, snapcraft, etc.

  18. Make the loading screen match the user's theme colour.

    Hi!

    At the moment, no matter which theme you have selected (dark, light), the startup / loading screen is white with blue logo.

    My eyes adapt slowly to such strong shifts in brightness, and I would love it if would respect my preferences and be dark if a dark theme was selected.
