IOS/Android local notifications
Use local notifications when the app is running or in background. I know that encrypted push notifications are supported when using the enterprise version, but it would be very handy if the app would support local notifications when running in background or foreground for new messages.
This creates the ability to use the app without sending data around the world.

I suggest that notifications to be enabled from matter most. It would be convenient to know when someone sends a message. Without notifications, I miss many messages.

Our team has moved to mattermost as the preferred messaging collaboration tool, and this feature is necessary to prevent an overabundance of email notifications.

Fix this! We are better than this, Boeing!

Getting email notifications for something that supposed to help us get OUT of email seems counterproductive. Let's find a solution!

I use Slack in my masters program, it's invaluable. Having to get an email telling me to check Slack is unthinkable, I'd get overwhelmed by emails, even at 1 per hour. Turn on notifications for MatterMost.

Notifications would be a time saver, particularly since the Android phone setup requires frequent login to WorkSpace... Better to see in notifications if there is anything to go look for in the first place.
I am rarely going to use a communication tool on computer or mobile device that won't notify me of new messages.

Notifications are critical to the success and operationalization of this app. If possible, please prioritize implementation. Thanks!

Our enterprise is unable to fully adopt Mattermost simply because local push notifications are so vital as to render the app ineffective in many situations without them.
Please work to enable, thank you.

This is very useful feature to have. And also it provides more security for local installation users

Please resolve this issue and enable push notifications ASAP. The mobile app is significantly less effective without push notifications.

Local push notfications is a very important feature for ease of use and the acceptance of the mobile clients in general. The windows 10 client seems to solve this just alright.

https://docs.mattermost.com/mobile/mobile-overview.html#build-the-apps-yourself looks to still invovle using Google & Apple push notification services (third party) rather than handling all notifications on device.

Thanks for the feedback Ismael! An alternative approach for getting notifications behind a firewall is self-hosting a push proxy. Here's how:

Is there any chance we can get this in the near future? Would be great to geht notifications behind Firewalls to be able to increase the acceptance of Mattermost. Really dont want to use Microsoft Teams.

Skype for Business supports this on Android (presumably for iOS too) - please add to Mattermost for iOS and Android!

Totally agree with Thomas. Same in my company. App is quite useful but would be even more useful if it would be possible to get notifications on new notifications. So it is no longer necessary to always open the app to get updates.
