Allow to customize individual channels logos (i.e., with emojis)
Right now, all channels in the sidebar have this "globe" logo before its name. I think a good idea would be to be able to replace this logo by a customizable one. An easy idea to think about would be to allow each channel to be represented by an emoji. This would allow for quick, colorful identification of a channel if you have 10+ channels in a group.

Allow users to set different sounds per channel
We have a few bots set up on their own channels and they're constantly alerting. I'd like to be able to set them up with a different sound. Currently my only choice is muting. This way, when I'm working, I can tell if it's a coworker, where I need to immediately look and reply, a bot that is letting me know a new ticket was started, and I can look in a few minutes, or a bot letting me know the server is down, in which case I can quit.

Allow selection/copy of table data in android app
A table of data when displayed in the Android app (not sure of others) doesn't allow for selection and copy of its data. Regular messages do, why not table data? Can we be allowed to select and copy table data?

Adding Custom User Flairs to each channel
I believe the ability to add user flairs in the different mattermost channels you are a part of would be a valuable addition to the service and would allow others to see what you have or what you do.
examples includeGearheadz channel:
User Name "Car flair"
Joseph Smith * '99 Jetta *Photography channel:
User Name "Camera type"
Jane Doe * Sony Alpha A7 *Lifting channel:
User Name "Max Lift"

"Retry" button to resend the message with its original timestamp.
Right now the behaviour is the following:
In case of network failure, the message is held in "draft" mode and with a "retry" button it can be resent.The resent happens however with a current timestamp overwriting the original one and placing the message as a new message in the chat effectively putting it out of it's original context.
Idea to implement:
While clicking "retry" button, the message will preserve its original timestamp and therefore be placed in the right context. Channel users should be notified about it the same way like it's a new message and have ability to…1 vote -

Keep "recently read" channels on top, like unread
I find the feature where channels with unread messages are in an UNREAD category that's above my FAVORITES to be very helpful and useful. I often have a few such channels at any one time, and I often read and answer them all at about the same time, switching between them.
The problem is that, as soon as I read through or respond to one channel, it is no longer UNREAD, and so leaves that topmost category. Often I want to respond with an additional line of text, or make an edit -- but now it's difficult to find that…2 votes -

Create groups of members to easily add a group to a new channel vs. adding/inviting people individually, or be able to tag a group of people.

View saved posts across all teams and channels
Hi team,
I'd like for there to be a way to view all saved posts across all teams and channels rather than by team.
For example, if I'm currently within Team A and click saved posts, I will see the posts I saved in the channels belonging to that team. However, if I go to Team B, I don't see any saved posts (unless I saved posts within a direct message). Because I'm a member of many teams, I don't always remember within which team/channels I saved the posts.

Implement alt text/image captions
Please implement an option for users to embed screen reader-compatible descriptive captions in images they upload for accessibility purposes. While I recognize this can be done simply by posting the caption text alongside this image, this can be cumbersome if the description is very long (e.g., a screenshot that contains lots of text). Something similar to what Twitter and Instagram have implemented in their UI for alt text (minus the character limit) may be ideal.

Feature to enable Auto theme switch based on MacOS theme
Introduce an "Auto mirror OS theme" toggle button in Mattermost Desktop for MacOS (and possibly Windows) client so it can mirror the MacOS theme setting (Settings > General > Appearance) Light and Dark automatically.
Many users would want to use dark themes for their apps to work at night, but Mattermost default theme is pretty bright in the dark.
Right now it should be a manual theme change to switch to the Mattermost dark theme. This would be a great step towards better user experience.

add no reply warning in email template
Hi team and thank you for your work.
We are an organization that runs a Mattermost Team Edition instance which is used by near 6.000 users.
Sometimes, we have users replying directly to email notifications sent by Mattermost. These replies get back to us, and we do not have time to forward it nor to warn the senders that their messages didn't reach the right people.Would that be possible to change email template by adding something like (with french translation, it would be awesome though!):
"Do not reply directly to this email, otherwise people will not get your message"…
