Allow users to choose the Audio device for notifications, including 'All Devices'
In the desktop app, the user is able to select which windows audio device, or All Devices, is used for notification. The option to follow the OS' current selection, or override with your own selection. Sometimes when using the headset as the default OS output device, it would be nice for alerts to be played on the external speakers and/or headset, as chosen by the user

Username text color configurable
In the Center Channel area, be able to configure a "Username Text Color" separate from "Center Channel Text" . This could improve readability when using compact mode.

Notify a user when they are removed from a channel
When a user is removed from a channel, they aren't notified in any way - the channel just disappears from their window. It would be helpful to indicate that you've been removed.

Private channels and messages to be sorted by the date of last received message
I think it would be preferable for the list of private channels and messages to be sorted by the date of last received message.
Currently this list is sorted alphabetically and it's impossible to find last messages if you receive a lot of it.8 votes -
Make CMD+Enter work as a shortcut for saving an edited message.
Currently, when people have "Send messages with CMD+Enter", this shortcut does not work in the message editing window and people have to save their edited messages with a mouse click.
I propose the message editing window to behave the same as the message sending box works.Originally submitted as a bug: https://github.com/mattermost/mattermost-server/issues/14934

Improve iOS share extension
The current share extension is pretty buggy.
1) It use a modal instead of a dismissible sheet which has been deprecated in iOS 13
2) It's too small when you are part of multiple teams, so you always need to scroll
3) When sharing from Safari, it often say "To share you need at least 1 character in your message" for no reason5 votes -

There are other open-source kanban applications besides Trello. I'd like it if there were other integrations.

Prevent non-admin users from posting and editing to channel
The use case is to provide information to users, for example, release notes, status updates, etc. In order to keep the channel relevant and to avoid clutter, non-admin users have read-only access.
This feature allows a team to create "reference" channels.
- team admins: create, read, update, delete
- non-admin users: read-only

Add support for emoji reactions in Slack import
Both Slack and Mattermost support emoji reactions to posts and Slack also includes information about those reactions in its export files. So I think it shouldn't be too hard to make it possible to preserve those reactions when performing import from Slack.
Though not always important, there can be many cases when it can be very desirable to keep those reactions and transfer them to Mattermost during migration.

Implement a higher tier than Teams
Currently within a Mattermost server, the highest tier of organization are Teams. However, Teams are not self-contained, and even if it is configured so that users cannot join other teams/channels, users are still aware of other users outside of their respective Teams and can also communicate with one another.
It could be useful to have another tier above Teams, for example Clients (for servers that serve enterprise clients). Each Client will have its own ID, and within it their respective teams, channels and users. Each Client will be separate from one another, meaning that the users from one Client cannot see or interact with users from another Client.

Sort users by last name in private chat list
In my opinion, it is very usefull to sort users by their last name. Now they are sorted by first name and it is very annoying. We have more people with same forename but fewer with same last name. It is more logical to sort them alpaphetically by last name than forename.
