Admins should be able to see statistics of different channels too.
Right now mattermost provides statistics at App level and at Team level. It would be really helpful if admins can see stats of different public/private channels too.
That means if I have 15 different channels, I can stats of all of them and pick which one is being used the most and which is least.
What do you think guys?

memorize login
I installed last v4.3.2 mattermost-desktop on my Ubuntu 18 laptop. I didn't find any solution to memorize my logins, so each morning, I have to enter it.

JIRA Integration Channel Notification/Subscribe
Support all issue status update event transitions, not just only status changes when the ticket is reopened, or when resolved/closed, and assignee changes.
We use the issue status transition to trigger the QA Team to start work. Would be nice to have these notifications via the Mattermost Integration

Allow a user list in the right-hand side bar
The right hand sidebar for the Mattermost client seems to only support searching. Many chat-apps like Slack, Discord, and others include a list of users in the current channel in a sidebar that can be displayed at all times. I think this would be a great feature!

Add posibility to share a file to many users or groups
In this moment, if I want to share the same file to many users or groups, I need to repeat share operation for every user or group. It would be great if you can add a intermediary screen for destination selection (like whatsapp), with multiple option for selection

Enable to detect since when a user is offline (manual & disconected)
Currently, using the UX, we cannot determine the last time a user when offline. this feature is useful and could be compared with flowdock.com, as you can see in the image https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/907914/71488129-12347800-2873-11ea-8b03-867c8fc2b357.png
Steps to reproduce:
mattermost Server 5.16+
Open a conversation 1-1 with any user, and if it is offline, we cannot determine since when that user is offlineExpected behaviour:
Open a conversation 1-1 with any user and if is offline. Display as part of user status since when the user is offline.

Enable Notifications when Mattermost is not Visible to the User
If a chat is selected when the desktop app is not visible or minimized, the user will not receive notifications for any new messages sent within the chat.
For example, If I am talking to Bob, then I shrink the desktop app with his name still selected in the left hand pane, or I open a new window and cannot see the Mattermost app, it wont notify me of a new message from Bob unless I make sure to click on a different chat window with someone else prior to moving my attention away from Mattermost.
I understand we wouldnt want notifications while we are in an active conversation, so I was thinking adding functionality of knowing when the Mattermost is visible or not to the user for sending notifications on chats that are open.
The idea would be similar to this page visibility api: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Page_Visibility_API

Make 'reply to last message in a channel' a default option
Enable the ability for a user org/admin to make 'reply to the last message in a channel' the default option when starting a new message, so threads are the default for a conversation. This could perhaps also be optionally limited to replies that explicitly start with or contain an 'at-mention' of the handle of the creator of the original post.

Add option to turn off default custom emojis
The title says it all: i.e. get rid of "the Doom guy" and other icons there. This option can go on the Emojis page in the System Console. An alternative implementation would be to list them in the custom emoji list and allow them to be individually deleted there.

Newcommers to private channels should not have access to the past logs
When a new user is invited to a private channel, s.he can access all the past logs as if s.he was a member of the channel from Day 1. I see this as a sort of privacy pitfall, as you have to control your language thinking of who may be invited in the future. That's not exactly what I'd call a private discussion channel.
My use case is that we are using mattermost to discuss our research project. I can perfectly imagine how we discuss together about a concurring project and then later introduce a postdoc coming from that group. That may have really ... unfortunate outcomes.
It would be much more natural and less error prone if users could only see the logs produced during the period where they were a member of the channel.
Of course, my proposal is not a secure protection because a channel member could always leak what is said in here. But that's already better than the current situation where everything is leaked by accident on a systematic manner.
Thanks for this great tool,

Integration with Miro collaborative whiteboarding
Miro (https://miro.com/) is a collaborative whiteboarding system popular with (interaction) designers but also used in research and strategy planning.
Microsoft Teams allows the following events from Miro to be shown:
- invitees sign up
- board is shared with you
- there's a new comment or a reply to your comment on a board
- someone @mentions you in a comment or reply.
Source: https://help.miro.com/hc/en-us/articles/360017572514-Microsoft-Teams
It would be nice to have a similar integration in Mattermost.

Run mattermost-mobile in webapp contexts and therefore allow other platforms than ios and android
I recently started using a Volla Phone with the operation system Ubuntu Touch and would like to use mattermost-mobile. As the app has been developed using react-native, I think the easiest way to support more platforms would be to also support react-native-web. This would allow to start mattermost-mobile in a browser and/or in web app contexts of other platforms than ios and android.

Allow users to be set to disallow direct messages
At the moment, you can configure users to be allowed to send direct messages either to other members of the team or to anyone on the server.
I'd like to make it so that normal users cannot start direct messages at all.
My particular usecase may be a little out of the sweet spot - I have created a mattermost for my children (quite young) who I want to be able to chat with while they are doing their home learning, but don't want them using public chat systems. I am happy for them to interact with each other in the public channels I have created, but I don't want them distracting each other with lots of messages that are difficult for me to see.
My favourite scenario would be just for non admin users simply not be able to create new direct messages.
While this is specifically for a home learning situation, I believe it could be useful in a corporate world too, although there it would have to be per user - it might be the kind of restriction you'd want on external users from outside of your organisation.

Send E-Mail using Slash Command
We are using a e-mail-based ticket system (e.g., ticketsupport@company-name.org). As most of our communication switched to Mattermost, the only remainder is writing mails to create a ticket.
Therefore, it would be really convenient to send a e-mail using something like:
/[mail-address] ["Subject"] ["Body"]
The from address is the address used by Mattermost.6 votes -

Read-only channels but with threads allowed
Hello,
It would be nice to have an ability to restrict messages in the channel but allow messages in the threads for the channel.
So that channel looks like a forum. Only answers to the posts are allowed.

Limit custom emoji visibility to some channels
By default custom emojis are available to every user in the server in every channel.
I would like to be able to restrain the visibility of a custom emoji I upload.
When uploading a custom emoji, I would like to pick in which channel it can be selected.I am interested in implementing this feature myself.
