  1. Add filter to show only channels with unread messages (or recent activity)

    I like Mattermost but frequently the list of collaborators gets long and I have to scroll between active chats.

    I think a filter feature would be useful to show only certain chats, e.g.
    - channels with unread messages
    - filter by text

    Combined with "pinned channels" this would help to focus on the active stuff even without giving Mattermost an entire (large) screen.

  2. Zoom App - Channel Headers - Higher Character Limit

    AS A mattermost app user on mac
    I WANT channel headers to have a higher character limit (at least double, preferably triple or more)
    SO THAT I can put many links in my teams channel for our zoom rooms, project artifacts, links to drives, etc.

    GIVEN I'm editing a channel header
    WHEN I've added 20 linked items (ex: [artifact name]{https://www.really.long.url.com/seriously-it_needsToBe/long)
    THEN I can save
    AND the data persists

  4. Share Contact Card

    It would be cool to share contacts from the phone contact app and display them as such.

    Currently it is not possible to share directly from the iPhone Contacts and .vcf files can not be downloaded or opened in iOS (did not try on Android)

  5. Sort Posts by Most Recent First.

    Would it be possible to sort posts by most recent first (top of list) so one does not have to scroll down to the bottom of a post list, or at least offer this as an option?

  7. Change custom attributes to support user set attribute values

    Custom attributes should optionally support having both a name and a value at the point of definition by the system admin.
    They would be as currently assigned to users/teams/group as
    appropriate. The value of the attribute could then be set at this time or by the user, team/group owner in a custom attribute extension to the user profile or similarly for for teams and group. Support for attributes of type simple
    (no value, current behavior), required (must be set), overridable (can be changed or not from value set by system) could also be added.

  9. Allow me to customize my ignore mentions list for notifications

    Currently we can set notifications to Ignore mentions for @channel, @here and @all. I would like to customize that list, much like the opposite of the user settings for triggering mentions.

  10. Notifications when a specific user posts in a channel

    I would like to set it so I get notified when a specific user (such as my manager) posts in a channel. This would make it faster to see any questions and he would get a faster response.

  11. Schedule do not disturb

    Users should have the option to set do not disturb status (or offline) based on a time schedule, or for the next X number of hours. A user would define the time DND should be active and the app would switch status during that time period. Currently users wishing to stop notifications must manually set DND status. But the user must also remember to reset the status. This allows users to define a time when they do not want to receive alerts/notifications.

  13. Option to allow hiding the server tabs bar

    I would love to be able to hide the top server tabs bar on my single-server setup. Lots of wasted space when I don't have any other servers. I like to have the window fairly small, sort of old-school instant-messaging style, and when I do, 5% of the height of the window is taken up by the tabs bar (yes, I'm that kind of person where I measured the height of my window in pixels and the height of the tabs bar using GIMP).

    Even if I were connected to other servers, I could switch servers using a keyboard shortcut…

  14. Implement a font size setting or possibility to increase font inline

    A font size option is quite an important feature to increase accessibility for all users including vision impairment users on various levels.
    I think it is quite self-explanatory so there is no need for long descriptions

    I think it's necessary to have at least option like font size which can be changed by user, especially for phones whose screen is small.

    Further more, if we can choose to hide the time stamp, the user name (in private chat), we would be able to focus on the messages themselves.

  17. Design a plug-in that can be configured to send specific hashtag comments to certain channels.

    Comments with specific hashtags will be sent to specified channels.
    Example: #Outage could be sent to a general user notification channel as well as an administrators channel.
    Example: A reference to a specific program release in a developer chat could be sent to to a project-specific QA chat.

  19. Custom channel header to show up in the sidebar

    I have several team/group conversations. They each show up in the sidebar as "Alphabetized person's name, next person's name." We have the ability to give a channel a custom header. It would be nice if that custom header could be what is displayed in the sidebar. Thank you.
