Integrate GoToMeeting
As we use GoToMeeting, the Mattermost plugin for Zoom does not help. We would verymuch appreciate a similar possibility to integrate GoToMeeting.

Expand image previews in Compact Message Display mode
I would like to be able to see a preview of the attached image even if I am in Compact Message Display Mode.
Currently, even if the Account Settings > Display > Default appearance of image previews is set to Expanded, the image is only displayed as an attachment icon when Account Settings > Display > Message Display is set to Compact. These two settings should work independently of each other.18 votes -
Allow users the choice for 2-factor authentication: Add Biometric Login
Increase the number of options the end user has to complete authentication. My thought is to use biometrics (face scan or thumb print) similar to that of banking apps then have the user choose 2 of their 3.
1) Username/Password
2) Authentication Code (MFA)

Support WebP images in threads
If I add .webp image as a response in thread, it's not shown just like .jpg, but offered for download. WebP standard is supported in all major browsers today so there is no reason to not show it in the discussion.

Quote Reply In Threads
In a thread, because we cant create subthreads, the comment menu should have a new item called "quote reply".
"Quote Reply" should allow the user to add a new comment with reference from the comment he is replying.
A : I like cars.
A : Wanna go for pizza? <-- "Quote Reply"
B : I like Ferrari.
B : "Wanna go for pizza?"

Add the team name to any notification emails
Please add the team name to any notification emails sent by MM. While we have few teams with common channel names, it is really confusing from email body which team it is.

Add second password box for confirmation when resetting via "Forgot Password"
After clicking "Forgot my password" and using the email link to reset, there is only a single box to enter a new password. A second confirmation box would be helpful to ensure no typos happen when entering the new password.

Clearer notification for plugin upload failure (size limit)
I was receiving a generic "Received invalid response from the server" messages when trying to upload the BigBlueButton plugin. I eventually discovered that it was because the Maximum File Size was configured to 5MB.
A clear message stating either what the "invalid response" was or flagging the issue as "too large of a file" size would be less generic and easier to troubleshoot.

allow different themes to be selected for mobile versus desktop/web app.
Use case: dark theme desired on mobile, default theme for desktop.

Mattermost - Read Only channel
For the moment, when this option "ExperimentalTownSquareIsReadOnly" is set to true, all the Town Square channels of all the teams become read-only.
It will great to set up this option not globally, but at the team level and not only on the "Town Square" channel but on any public channel.

Make team switch shortcut configurable
Please, make the keyboard shortcut CTRL+ALT+number for switching teams configurable.
Since the update, which brought this feature earlier this year, I'm unable to use the Mattermost Windows app, because I'm using czech programmers keyboard, which uses CTRL+ALT+numbers to type czech characters.
Typing is automatic process and it's not really possible to avoid typing czech characters this way. It's not a solution to re-learn typing because of Mattermost or switching keyboards before typing.3 votes -

Make new posts stand out more
When there are multiple teams, when a new post is made to another team, it is difficult for users to notice it. I want you to show it with an impact that would reverse the color information of the icon.
The same can be said for the channel name display within each team. It is difficult to understand with the current bold display.3 votes -
Blacklist specific email addresses
In a recent company (+5k employees) all employees with a certain email domain may join a mattermost team. But there are some few exceptions, where some employees may not join the team, altough they share an email domain. So it would be great to have a blacklist for certain email addresses.

Voice Messages Record and Play
The same way we can send messages, we should be able to send voice messages.
It should be as simple as click "add voice", record what you want, press send and it's made available on the server for others to listen.
It should be supported by browser and mobile client apps.

Allow configuring favorites-only push notifications
Allow limiting notifications to those from favorite channels/people - preferably individually in certain modes (away, offline).

Have the ability for system admin to set channel admins via system console
Currently, channel admins can only be set by other channel admins. In the event that a channel does not have any admins (if the only admin accidentally left the channel or team for example), there is no way to set an admin for that channel outside of doing a manual SQL query.
It would be much more convenient if there was an ability to set channel admins via the System Console for example to handle situations like this

Automatic update for desktop client
The Mattermost desktop client should automatically check for updates and prompt the user to update. This feature is mandatory in today's security landscape, even for an Electron app.
Most of our users don't realize their desktop is many version out of date, with pending security fixes.
Bonus points for shipping builds via the Windows Store, macOS App Store, snapcraft, etc.

Image proxy support for normal proxy servers
Mattermost image proxy supports atmos/camo Image Proxy and local image proxy. Support should be added for normal proxies that one would set via HTTPSPROXY environment variable. I need images to go through a proxy but I don't want to see HTTPSPROXY for entire application.
