  1. Auto SSO/SAML login

    In a SSO environment, it would make sense when only one authentication provider is available, to auto redirect the user to the sso provider page, so that you dont have to click on the login button.

    In my case, i use keycloak with an active directory and kerberos, so all windows users are automatically logged in with mattermost in autostart if they did not have to click on the button.

  2. Draw.io Integration

    Similar to Boards, it would be advantageous to have the ability to draw charts collaboratively with the rest of the team within the MM app. Draw.io is an open source software with permissive licensing so it wouldn't be too much work to implement this feature relatively quickly.

  3. Add Category level notification preferences

    Ability to set notification preferences for a Category with multiple channels. Currently the only notification control available at Category level is to mute/un-mute categories.

  4. Control who's able to DM other members and who's not

    Control the group members DM option with other members, maybe a new role that can only send messages in channels ?
    This would be a great feature to increase security given some companies sensitive infos that shouldn't circulate around or just to stop any and all unneeded and unverified rumors from spreading privately

  7. When i share a photo to MM android client, the MM app should open

    By instance, when i share my photo to Signal, Signal opens directly, so that should MM client do. Don't you think ?

  8. on MM android client: compress picture before upload (just like Signal)

    Easy to understand. If i want my users stop to use Signal, MM-client should be able to compress image before upload.
    I've seen so many posts on this must-have feature for years but with no result :(

  9. Add a popup notification when someone calls you (using the new calls beta)

    Currently, in the new calls (beta) in v7.0, when someone calls you, you get the same notification as you would get with a normal chat message. This does not really grab the attention of the receiver, who might think it's just a chat message notification or just miss it entirely due to the brevity of the notification, leaving the caller waiting indefinitely in an empty call.

    Could the mattermost devs add an option to enable e.g. a popup window or a continuously ringing sound when someone calls you? This would greatly improve the usability of the call functionality. Currently, I…

  11. Saving servers with names

    It would help if the servers stay stored so I dont need to enter it all the time when I disconnect.

    I dont want to be always online or invisible, just disconnected. But when I want to return, I have to type in the link to the server and it's name.

  13. Too many "image.png" files. Please make them identifiable.

    Mattermost automatically stores all captured images as "image.png."
    So, there are too many "image.png" files on all channels.

    If filename contains its datetime and the publisher's shortened ID like [Pete_230814-0848.png],
    the user will be able to search the image file more easily.

    To be specific, it's a bit cumbersome to find a specific image file now.

    Most people are seeking an image file directly from the recent file list through the view info icon(ⓘ) and voila, there're dozens of image.png files.

    Although I've learned using following command works for that,

    there's no guarantee of knowing the uploader's…

    In Windows, it would be nice if the MatterMost icon was colored to indicate status - currently, it is only ever white.

  15. Highlight part of conversation

    It'd be lovely if there was a way to highlight text in an ongoing thread/discussion. It's quite common that when posting long texts, the responding person/people miss part of what has been entered.

    E.g. I'll enter three paragraphs of text, the person/people responding completely miss out on what's entered in the second paragraph. Rather than having to enter "As I was saying, above, in my second paragraph...", it'd be very useful to be able to highlight a block of text.

    Not sure if I should only be able to highlight parts of my own text, or any text.

    An ability to preview documents within Boards similar to how documents can be previewed in channels (files). As a work around I currently export my PDF as images to allow myself and others to quickly view a document within a card without having to download an attachment and then view.

  19. Message button in profile if opened in direct message channel

    I am in a private conversation with user 'A' and mention a user 'B'.
    We can open the profile of User 'B' but there is no message button to open a direct chat.
    In a channel this feature already exists, so it should be also possible to do this in a private conversation
