iOS and Android apps should allow multiple server connections
right now in the iOS app if you setup an instance I do not see a way to setup another one and seeing as how the current architecture of the product is, I would need multiple servers for my org's needs. the app should be able to handle it as well.
The Mobile v2.0 beta featuring multi-server support is now live!
Our most-requested mobile feature ever is now live via the Mobile v2.0 beta - thanks to everyone who has upvoted this feature! Users must opt-in to become testers via Testflight (iOS) or Google Play (Android) to download the “Mattermost Beta” app. Please note that this is a separate app from the production “Mattermost” app that exists in the app stores today, meaning you can use both at the same time.
Take a look at our recent blog post for full instructions on how to join the beta program, and feel free to provide any feedback you have directly in the feature channel.

Implementation of this feature will expand Mattermost usage *significantly*. This has been a major limitation compared to similar chat environments (like Slack).

Hello, as a workaround you can open mattermost web app in firefox mobile browser. Once it is open and running. Click on menu -> Install. it will install a separate app (sandboxed within firefox) on your mobile phone. Not really tried if notifications etc works but surely messeges can be sent and received.

More and more small and big social and business projects start using Mattermost as the central point of communication. All with their own servers. Not beeing able to connect more than one server at the same mobile client (this includes tablets and minimalistic android desktops) fades out the usefulness of Mattermost more and more.
I got comments saying "no, I will not join your mattermost team because I need uninterrupted connection to some other server". The amount of installations makes it pointless to run your own Mattermost server - no one will participate. -

This is currently a dealbreaker for me in looking to expand my use of mattermost, hope it's coming along well!

Hi, how is it looking with implementation of this feature?
Right now it's showstopper for me because I already am at one Mattermost team on one server and I am looking for options where to migrate my company Slack. Mattermost is most viable way since it shares design approach with Slack but this feature is just not allowing me to do so.
Any information is appreciated, thanks.

i think this feature will help adoption of mattermost. it specifically means I can use the tool at work for work, and run another one at home to organize family stuff..

Right now the mobile app only allows one login at a time. As MatterMost is more and more widely used, some people have more than one instance they need to login on their phone.

Thank you all! This is supported on the browser via separate browser tabs, and on the desktop app in a single interface.
A separate feature proposal is monitored for mobile. https://mattermost.uservoice.com/forums/306457-general/suggestions/10975938-ios-and-android-apps-should-allow-multiple-server

Glad to know this is now planned, it's a really big requirement for us to be able to move off Slack. We have a sister company with it's own Slack (and hopefully in future Mattermost) instance and a number of people who need to have access to both from mobile.

You can clone Mattermost App using https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.applisto.appcloner&hl=pl and have many apps one per server - it's working for me :)

Mattermost is a lot behind Slack. -

Yeah, I still have the same problem here, we have a lot of no go to switch to Mattermost (from slack) because of that particular issue.
