  1. Windows Mattermost Client: Make us of the Window Caption

    Do the same as the pure Mattermost website, which is changing the HTML <title>. Just copy the web page <title> into the Main Window Caption. As a Manic Time User, this would allow me to summarize the time spend at the different channels, groups and messages.

  2. Better notifications between teams

    When I receive a message from another team I can't see from which team it was sent. Maybe introduce a better notification system for persons who are in multiple teams on the same server.

  3. More robust CLI utility

    My shop is very Linux and command line heavy. We would like to see the [install dir]/bin/platfrom utility expanded to include more features, which can then be scripted. The first such feature we would like to see would be the ability to list users from the utility.

  6. Mute specific channels in app / more granular control of notifications

    I have some channels that I just don't care about if I'm away from my desk and on my mobile (e.g. a channel that Hubot posts RSS feeds into). Ideally I'd like the ability to see all my channels and have granular control over notifications, so I could select something like:
    "System Alerts" channel: notify desktop and mobile
    "RSS" notify desktop only
    "Off-Topic" no notifications

  7. Confirm with ping warning before sending (at)all (at)everyone (at)here (at)channel mentions

    Notifications are challenging, and a common source of friction seems to be "hey, you triggered a notification I didn't want by saying (at)all".

    Slack handles this nicely: they intercept the message before send, and advise the user of the outcome.

    By using (at)all, you are about to notify 123 people in 12 timezones. Are you sure? [edit message] [send now]

  8. Add Office365 authentication support for native mobile apps

    This feature is a show-stopper level requirement for using Mattermost on Mobile with companies in the Microsoft/Azure ecosystem.

    Reason being that most large scale companies have centralized identity management and have policies that prevent any application into their ecosystem if they cannot centrally control access to it. As an example, corporate IT usually want to make 100% sure that when they disable a user account from their AD, the change is carried over to all business applications and there's no risk of the user retaining access to company information once they have left.     It might be very inconvenient to search through every channels name/description manually. A text search on this fields to find a channel will do the job.

  10. See who's online in a channel

    It should be possible to see who's online in a channel. At the moment all you're able to see is a list of all users that are part of the channel, though in order to see who's online you need to create private channels.

  11. Add keyboard shortcut for quick reply to last message

    For me it is kind of annoying, that I have to use the mouse if I want to reply a message. I'd really love the feature of having a shortcut (something like Shift+up, because up is edit last message), which lets me automatically reply to the last message in the conversation. Do you think this would be feasible?

    right now, threaded messages lose their context when imported. they just become normal messages and not replies to other messages.

    in slack, replies are standalone objects. it works via a thread_ts (thread timestamp) attribute. thread_ts refers to the ts (timestamp) of the parent post. if a post has thread_ts == ts, then it is the beginning of a thread.

  17. Make MFA part of the team edition

    Securing your chat server should not depend on the size of your wallet. I think there are enough other reasons for enterprises to pay for Mattermost (support plans, branding, LDAP). Allowing additional security to private persons, open source- and small teams would be awesome.

  20. Option for channel specific push notifications

    Currently, posh notifications across multiple channels are automatically stacked into a single notification card.

    This makes it very difficult to keep tabs on active conversations happening across multiple subscribed channels when the app is it if focus.
