Away status
Mark user as away if there is no activity for more than 15 minutes.
An /away command would be nice as well.
Away status is now available on master, set to 5 minutes. If anyone is interested in implementing the /away slash command or making the away duration configurable please reply here and we can open a ticket?

Good question! We're tracing the feature proposal for making the away duration configurable here, and it's currently open: https://mattermost.uservoice.com/forums/306457-general/suggestions/18387460-away-status-configuration

What's the status on making the away duration configurable?

I would appreciate the ability to set a custom status or to manually set a duration of time when the system would place me as away. The current 5-minute default is detrimental to a team and management's perceptions when the company is entirely remote.

I would suggest that the away mode watch for inactivity on the users workstation and not just a lack of activity on the client app for 5 minutes as it currently appears to be doing in v3.7.1. The current method gives others on the team the misconception that the user they seek is not there when they actually are.

Ability for users to manually set their Status. e.g. Online, Away, Busy / Do not disturb, Invisible. As is possible on Skype, Rocket.Chat.
Setting yourself as 'Away' in Slack sets yourself as Invisible.
The ability to set yourself as Invisible is a fantastic productivity tool as it allows you to still see all activity that is going on without getting a stream of interruptions from people. It works far better than setting yourself as Busy.
