Group Chat Organization

"The request: Please pull Group Chats/Discussions out from DIRECT MESSAGES and create a new heading like GROUP MESSAGES or something… AND, on top of that… have that list sortable (oh how would I love the Group Chat with the most recent message to be at the top).
For context, I work for a small company (< 25 employees) and we use Mattermost. Each Group Chat gets a new “entry” under DIRECT MESSAGES. At this point, it is ridiculously difficult to find the individual people, scrolling…

mmctl user create Random Password Flag
As of now, the mmctl user create feature - https://docs.mattermost.com/administration/mmctl-cli-tool.html#mmctl-user-create - allows the user executing the command to manually set the password string.
It will be good to have the ability to generate a random alphanumeric password using some sort of flag. Eg. --passwordrandom

Member search sorting
Hi Team,
When sending a direct message, we can see a 'member search' selection, which currently seems like sorting in alphabetical order by username.
Could you provide an option to change the sorting criteria.

Emoji Delete Audit Logging
As of now, there is no audit logged in to the Audits table when an emoji gets deleted. The only way to find out about this is through the mattermost.log. For example:

It will be better to have this information logged into the Audits table for System Administrators to have the ability to trace this information.

Provide options for turning off the link previews for specific sites
Currently, we do not want to turn off all link previews (Enable Link Previews: false). Can we get an option for turning off the link previews for specific sites such as Gitlab?

Notifications when a specific user posts in a channel
I would like to set it so I get notified when a specific user (such as my manager) posts in a channel. This would make it faster to see any questions and he would get a faster response.

Custom channel header to show up in the sidebar
I have several team/group conversations. They each show up in the sidebar as "Alphabetized person's name, next person's name." We have the ability to give a channel a custom header. It would be nice if that custom header could be what is displayed in the sidebar. Thank you.

Remove message action popup when selecting text
If someone sends you a long message with text you need to copy, the pop on the right side of Mattermost for replying, reacting to messages, and has "more actions", gets in the way of selecting the text.
This is especially bad when using the compact layout, because it completely obscures the text underneath it. It would be nice if the popup didn't overflow on to messages or at least didn't show up when selecting text.

Increase the maximum nickname length (or a pronoun field)
In our mattermost, users have been organically adding their pronouns to the end of their nickname, which is great, but when users have particularly long names, it's impossible for them to add more than 22 characters.
Example: "Joe Smith (he/him)" works fine at 18 characters, but "Alexander Bernard (They/Them)" at 29 characters goes well past the 22 character limit.
Because of the number of potential duplicate users based on their first name, there just isn't a good way to add pronouns, and it's difficult to explain that the 22 character limit on nicknames isn't able to be extended on our…

Implement ~{channel_name} Feature for Private Channels and Direct Messages
The current ~{channel_name} feature only works for public channels.
As of now, users are able to obtain the URL of the private through the "View Info" feature.
Another option is to right click the room name on the channel list and click "Copy Link".
It will be good to standardize the feature across all types of channels to for a better user experience.

Add the ability to retrieve an archived private channel with admin permissions
I would like to be able to archive private channels that are no longer in use once a project collaboration is complete but also be able to retrieve that channel if the project reopens or as a means to preserve corporate knowledge and lessons learned for similar projects in the future. Currently, even if you are an admin for a channel, once you archive it, you cannot search for the channel or unarchive it.

Add second password box for confirmation when resetting via "Forgot Password"
After clicking "Forgot my password" and using the email link to reset, there is only a single box to enter a new password. A second confirmation box would be helpful to ensure no typos happen when entering the new password.

Auto-archive channels
Hello All,
Would be great to have any option to configure on MM to auto-archive channels (private or public) if no activity for a time period.
This will be really useful, due, we create channels everyday for temporal purposes (incidents, discussions, etc) and no always the participants archive the channels when are not needed.
So, an automatic way to do that would be great to perform the archival for the channels which the last activity was older than 30 days for example...;)

Make the user inactive when the user does not belong to a team
By default, when a user connects to Mattermost, the user gets the "active" status even if the user does not belong to a team.
Is it possible set the status to "inactive" when the user does not yet belong to a team ?1 vote -
"Save all attachments" - Multiple file download
we have to click on each attachment to download it. make Save all attachments available please. Drag and drop would be nice too.
