  1. Add Office365 authentication support for native mobile apps

This feature is a show-stopper level requirement for using Mattermost on Mobile with companies in the Microsoft/Azure ecosystem.

Reason being that most large scale companies have centralized identity management and have policies that prevent any application into their ecosystem if they cannot centrally control access to it. As an example, corporate IT usually want to make 100% sure that when they disable a user account from their AD, the change is carried over to all business applications and there's no risk of the user retaining access to company information once they have left. Using a central identity provider also makes…

  2. I forgot my password option on Mobile

There is no option on the mobile apps for a password email to be sent to the user if they have forgotten their password. I have had to instruct them to go on a computer and request a password reset email. I do not know if there is a reason for not having this, but I think it would be a time saver for most users because most users are on mobile only. Thanks!

  3. Pinned posts on mobile app

Currently there is no way to view or create pinned posts with the Android app.

We're using pinned posts for announcements, but many of our users are exclusively using the mobile app.

Hi all! Mattermost mobile apps v1.3 and later support the ability to turn off notification sound and vibration.
    – on iOS, you can configure it on your system notification preferences
    – on Android, sign in to the Mattermost, tap on the three dots at the top of your screen to open the main menu and choose “Settings”. There, you can configure your notification preferences.

    iOS: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/mattermost/id1257222717
    Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mattermost.rn

For the desktop and browser, you can configure desktop notification sounds from your Account Settings: https://docs.mattermost.com/help/settings/account-settings.html#notifications

  7. Receive simple share from other apps

Enable the functionality to allow users to easily share images directly from other applications (such as the gallery) to a channel Mattermos. I am a developer of mobile applications and have some experience with Android, I would like to implement this functionality

  9. Swipe from left to show menu (Android)

In all other Android apps, swiping from the left of the screen reveals the navigation drawer.

Only in Mattermost, you have to go press that small button at the top-left, which is a pain, especially on nowadays' big screens.

  10. Android App: Notification on Timeout or Logout

Send Android Users a Notification if they have been logged out.
We previously had session lengths of 1 month. After that, the App silently just doesn't send any more notifications about messages and users forget about it.
Only if you open the App directly, you'll see that you have been logged out.

    Hey all,

Thanks for the report. We’ve identified the issue and fixed it in v1.13. You should receive a push notification after the session expires informing that happened.

Note that for the fix to take effect, you would need to log in with v1.13. So you might see your session expire without receiving a push notification one more time, but you should receive that notification thereafter.

Mattermost v5.4 also adds a session expiry notification for the desktop app and desktop browser.

  11. Message preview for Android notifications

The system notifications triggered by Mattermost don't include a message preview (only a message "@xyz sent you a direct message" with "@xyz sent you a direct message" as preview), even if "show content" on lock screen is activated for Mattermost notifications. It would be nice to have message previews.

    Thanks for the feedback!

This is in fact available, but your System Admin might have restricted what information is included in push notifications. We provide three options:
    – General description with only the sender’s name
    – General description with user and channel names
    – Full message snippet including a message preview

You can contact your System Admin to see which option they’ve chosen. More information here: https://docs.mattermost.com/administration/config-settings.html#push-notification-contents

  12. Option to have permanent sessions on mobile apps, manageable on the server

After logging in to the server on a mobile app the server should assign a permanent session to the app. This avoids the necessity of re-loggin in to mobile apps.
In order to keep security the user should be able to view logged in session ("devices") on the server an be able to log them out if necessary.

Thank you Andreas! Both of these can actually be achieved today:

    1. Your System Admin can configure how long mobile sessions last in System Console > Security > Sessions > Session length for mobile apps. https://docs.mattermost.com/administration/config-settings.html#sessions

    2. Each user can view logged in sessions in Account Settings > Security > View and Logout of Active Sessions. Your System Admin can also revoke all sessions from a user in System Console > Users if necessary.

  13. upload any type of files

We need an opportunity to upload any type of file to the group chat i.e. docs, html, pdf and so on.

  14. show user list for emoji reactions by tap on emoji-icon on mobile browsers/mattermost-apps

users of our team (http://geschichtenkapsel.de) absolutely love the option to see user names, when they hover over emoji reactions on their desktop browser/mattermost desktop app. They asked for this option to be implemented on mobile, too, as they were used to it when we had a slack team account.

  15. Option for channel specific push notifications

Currently, posh notifications across multiple channels are automatically stacked into a single notification card.

This makes it very difficult to keep tabs on active conversations happening across multiple subscribed channels when the app is it if focus.

  16. Android push-notification play even with chat open

the open push notif library dont seem to take into account that the app or chat is open, so while having a discussion you get spammed with alerts.

New push notification settings have been added in v3.5 released November 16th which enable you to choose whether or not you want to receive notifications while online, away or offline which fix this issue.

  17. only show the number of mentions in the red circle over the channel menu button

the red circle with a number in it gives the impression that i have missed important chats. it would be more useful in my opinion if the number represented the number of unread mentions and personal messages instead.

  18. Android App: System Notifications

The Android App works great. It would be great if the app could create Android system notifications.
Otherwise you have to open the app to see if there are new notifications (or leave the email notifications enabled).

Thank you for this great tool!
