I would like my own name to be the top of the direct message instead of order alphabetically. This drives me insane. Pleaseeee, help stop this madness.

There are several options now provided, but one is conspicuously missing: the ability to change the ordering of the groupings.

In my use of MM, I have a handful of favorite channels, a bunch of other channels, and a handful of direct messages. Most of my communication is in the favorite channels and the direct messages, but the former is at the very top and the latter is at the very bottom. It is annoying to have to scroll through the wasteland of all of my non-favorite channels every time I need to switch between the two groupings I actually use.

This PR ( https://github.com/mattermost/mattermost-webapp/pull/1568 ) suggests that the work for this has been completed, what's the status on release?

Need ability to group channels based on arbitrary groupings I create, and/or just drag them to reorder them myself. I have dozens of channels, and I need to be able to see activity in groups of them, rather than in the groupings currently identified.

Ideally should be a quick toggle between sort order rather than a global setting

This is a very significant user experience feature. Users get lost without being able to see messages in date/time order.

without sorting by most recent, this program is almsot unusable. i don't end up answering nearly 40% of my direct messages, because they dissapear as soon as i click out of them. This may not be an issue when you're compnay is 10 people. But when this is used by a larger enterprise, it makes this tool very hard to use.
