Allow reordering teams in desktop application
There seems to be no way to reorder the teams in the desktop application (the order within the tab strip at tthe top of the application window), other than deleting and re-adding the teams in the desired order. It would be useful to be able to reorder the teams in the settings by dragging, or directly in the tab strip.

Keep red-dot-notifications in tray when receiving a message with MM-client in background
Found behavior (Windows 10): MM-client is in the background (e.g. when reading stuff in another window) and I receive a direct message, then the red dot in the tray appears just to disappear directly after, IF the last opened channel was the one where I got the message. Somehow the app doesn't recognize that it is not in focus and thinks the message has been read.
Due to this we missed some communication as we "lose" red circles indicating new messages. Tried several notification-configurations but no luck so far.
Thanks a lot for helpful ideas or a fix!22 votesThis issue has been resolved.

Keyboard shortcuts for new messages.
I would like Ctrl + N or Cmd + N to bring up the direct messages pop-up. Once a username is the last in the filter box and is highlighted, allow the enter key to start the new conversation
5 votesThank you Edwin for nominating the feature! The keyboard shortcut CTRL+K and CMD+K let’s you switch to a direct message channel (even if it hasn’t been started before), with Mattermost 3.5 and later.

Windows Mattermost Client: Make us of the Window Caption
Do the same as the pure Mattermost website, which is changing the HTML <title>. Just copy the web page <title> into the Main Window Caption. As a Manic Time User, this would allow me to summarize the time spend at the different channels, groups and messages.

Make notification about new message persistent
Notification about new message stays active only for few seconds and then disappears. Thus it's hard to keep track of new messages.
Is it possible to make them persistent (not dissappears until clicked or any other activity) or increase time they stays active?Al the members of our team suffering from this issue. It would be perfect feature to implement.
The same issue was described on github: https://github.com/mattermost/desktop/issues/91

Windows distribution via Chocolatey
Moving from GitHub issues so this feature idea can be discussed and upvoted: https://github.com/mattermost/desktop/issues/124
Chocolatey is a distribution tool for Windows applications, including many free software applications (for example, https://chocolatey.org/packages/pidgin). It allows an end-user to get application updates somewhat like using apt or yum on GNU/Linux.

Keep only one running instance of the desktop
A workflow for me with other apps is to use the Start/Search to find the app in question and then open it there. If the app ran already, I'd open that app (f.ex. with Outlook or Skype for Business).
With the MM app for Windows, I get a new instance of the running app.
Could you open the existing instance if there is one?

When the team URL can't be loaded during app startup, automatically reload every 30 seconds
When I start up my laptop and I'm travelling, I initially don't have internet access. After it starts up I connect it via Bluetooth. I usually forget that (unlike Slack), if Mattermost didn't successfully load the page when it started, then it just sits there waiting for manual intervention to reload the page.
Instead, if the page can't be loaded (the "Failed to load the URL" page), Mattermost desktop should automatically reload the page every 30 seconds until it loads successfully.
