Is there an option to choose what languages are being used or switch between two? I usually have to write some things in English and others in German...

Thanks everyone for the feedback! Inline spell check is scheduled for the next Desktop App release on May 9th.
It'll be available for all platforms (Windows, Mac, Linux) and for five languages (English, French, German, Spanish and Dutch).
If you're interested to try it out, you can download the first release candidate here: https://github.com/mattermost/desktop/issues/516#issuecomment-298262924

Just putting in my $0.02 this would be a great win for MM client.
Thanks.

Just wish the browser spell check ability was in the client as well. I stopped using the client for this reason and suffer with managing a browser window just to have spell check. Yeah, it is that important to me.

We use this daily at my company-it's become an integral tool for us that is unfortunately missing a very important feature. If it is at all possible to dedicate any labor to instituting a spell check, it would be a game changer. Thank you.

most current systems and browsers got spellcheck built in, I've no idea what's the problem here but hope that this can be solved soon as it's really quite a struggle for some people otherwise (dyslexia and such)

Thanks Scott! The packages use `node-spellchecker` which we tried applying to the Mattermost Desktop project without success.
Here is a work in progress PR to add an inline spell check for the client - if anyone would like to take a look and offer help, would be much appreciated https://github.com/mattermost/desktop/pull/277

I found 3 npm packages to enable spell checking for electron apps:
https://www.npmjs.com/package/electron-spellchecker
Enable Full Chrome Context Menu: https://www.npmjs.com/package/electron-editor-context-menu
https://www.npmjs.com/package/electron-spell-check-providerAny idea of when this might be implemented?
