Hello,
cli tool is not user's compliant :)
Users should be able to delete (not just deactivate) their datas without any admin intervention.

@ahmad, if an instance wishes to have public sign-ups, instance owners must comply with user requests to remove data, especially in Europe due to the GDPR. This feature would allow instance operators to open their instances to European citizens without needing to manually intervene to remove user data whenever a European citizen removed their account & wanted to take their data with them.

Hi Ahmad,
I understand your point of view. In this case (I'm not the one who ask this feature), Mattermost is offered to a large public : anyone can create his account or his team (it's not reserved to a company or organization).
And final user may want to delete his account or one of his teams when he doesn't need anymore mattermost.
The organization which hosts this service doesn't really like personnal data and rathers do let people make their choice to delete their personnal data.In this case, user must ask the organisation who host and offer this service to delete a team or his account.
It would be easier if any user could delete his own account or one of his team alone :) -

Hi there.
I think it is good to have a layer of approval to delete data for audit and security purposes. May I know the use case behind this?
