Hey all, we’ve outlined available encryption options here: https://docs.mattermost.com/administration/encryption.html
Would love to hear feedback from everyone who contributed to this feature proposal!

commentedHaving secure "at rest" data on the server is very important for data safety, especially due to the new privacy laws within the European Union. Nextcloud for example offers an easy to use server side encryption for its services within the settings. No special software is neesed. Our organisation really wishes an easy to setup server side encryption within the dashboard.

commentedWould be solved by one of the current top feature requests: https://mattermost.uservoice.com/forums/306457-general/suggestions/12818799-off-the-record-messaging

commentedI would say it's highly recommended if it's still not avalaible. In company there should be privacy protocols and no one should gain access do private messages even from database. So it means that materrmost doesn't give such a feature ?

commentedI'd say yes. Because this is blocker for using Mattermost as chat server if operation team with access to DB can read managements private conversation...

commentedI'd say no to this feature if it conflicts with a fast (server-side) search capability.
