"Remember me" checkbox when start tne application
It's quite annoying to input username\pass every start. Actually if user clears running applications he has to input username\pass again. I assume it's already had but I couldn't find this functionality.

ui customization
I think it's necessary to have at least option like font size which can be changed by user, especially for phones whose screen is small.
Further more, if we can choose to hide the time stamp, the user name (in private chat), we would be able to focus on the messages themselves.

Provide a "Mark read" choice in mobile push notifications
A "Mark read" choice in push notifications about new messages, as seen in many IM apps, would be handy in Mattermost Mobile too. Currently the message can only be marked read by tapping the message to open the app (which is slow).

Android Multi-Window support
Support the Android multi-window feature. Currently, resizing of the application window seemingly crashes the app.

Support external keyboard
See issue: https://github.com/mattermost/mattermost-mobile/issues/2512
When an external keyboard and an on-screen keyboard is used, the chat input text field looses focus as soon as the on-screen-keyboard is hidden, probably because hiding the keyboard changes the screen size and therefore triggers a redraw/relayout. I suggest to fix this.7 votes -
Support for older Android version - starting from 4.0+
Android 4.4 is to high requirement. Slack app support also older Android versions, why Mattermost can't? 4.0+ would be reasonable.

Allow user registration in mobile app
With 2021 and all the discussions on online privacy and their violations thereof by the big corporations going on, Mattermost has become all the more important.
It is disheartening to see that the mobile app still does not have the ability to register users.
An open github issue: https://github.com/mattermost/mattermost-mobile/issues/2299

Android push notification should always display user avatar
Currently the push notification displays an automatic icon build with the first letter of user name, why not use avatar?

Android: fetch text in background for faster opening from notifications
We use Mattermost (self hosted) in a team of 30 people with about 20 channels.
On my medium performance phone (Xperia Z3) it can take quite a while (~20 seconds) from tapping a notification to showing the actual message, even in ok network conditions (WiFi or 3G+).
In the Desktop App, there's no such lags.I'd guess that by having the App run a background service which already fetches the text data for the channel triggering the notification could considerably speed up this use case.

Open/View any type of files within built-in applications
Also we need an ability to open any type of files within built-in mobile applications without the need of previously downloading file. For example: one chat member sends a “.docx” file to the group chat, other members can open this file directly by tapping the link once and choose an application to open it

DoNotDisturb
Allow users to setup "on duty" time frames so they aren't constantly buzzed by the app when they are off duty. Unless a user is specifically cited.

android notification priority
Android has a notification implementation that supports priority levels. (https://developer.android.com/guide/topics/ui/notifiers/notifications.html). This means that you can define different priorities for the notifcation. lowest means no notification and max is that you get a pop up/in from the top even in full screen apps (like a movie)
Its very disturbing to have that pop in when you are busy with other stuff. especially in the weekend while you are not working (mattermost is in my case work related). If you look at Telegram, you can choose your priority for the notification, or at least this is possible via the settings…

Password change on mobile application (Android)
Hello,
It would be great to be able to change our password via the mobile application instead of having to use a web browser or desktop app.

Add support for Adaptive Icons on Android 8
Android 8 introduced a featured called Adaptive Icons; it lets users pick the shape of icons on their home screen. Supporting this is extremely easy, and only requires 4 lines of XML code. Please add support for this feature in a future release.
Documentation is available here: https://developer.android.com/guide/practices/ui_guidelines/icon_design_adaptive.html

Mobile app should support custom dimension on images
In the current setup the mobile app is ignoring the custom markdown dimension parameters for images.

Run mattermost-mobile in webapp contexts and therefore allow other platforms than ios and android
I recently started using a Volla Phone with the operation system Ubuntu Touch and would like to use mattermost-mobile. As the app has been developed using react-native, I think the easiest way to support more platforms would be to also support react-native-web. This would allow to start mattermost-mobile in a browser and/or in web app contexts of other platforms than ios and android.

on MM android client: compress picture before upload (just like Signal)
Easy to understand. If i want my users stop to use Signal, MM-client should be able to compress image before upload.
I've seen so many posts on this must-have feature for years but with no result :(Thank you & regards,
f.

Make the text box background match the rest of the dark theme
When in either of the dark themes on the Android app, the text box has a white background which is super jarring. Can we get it matched with the rest of the theme please?
