Open attached image in browser
When trying to view attached images at their full resolution, having to save the image, find where you saved it, and then open it there is quite clunky.
It would be better to open the attached image in a browser, users can right click save it from there, and it can easily be maximized there

I would like that this extend to any kind of attachments... We share documents and it is a real pain having to "Download" to later go find it in my folder.
One possible solution is to add a "double click" (or option Open) that will automatically download your temp folder and open it with the native application. That's what browsers typically do once the action has been associated. -

Agree, to me this is the killer advantage Slack has over Mattermost...

I agree and wanted to make the same suggestion when I found yours. Ctrl+Click works pretty well in Slack and gives the user the choice to view higher resolution either in Slack (Click) or in Browser (Ctrl+Click) without having to make a permanent choice in options.
