Daily / weekly email digests
I know it sounds like the “email batching” feature added in Mattermost 3.4 https://mattermost.uservoice.com/forums/306457-general/suggestions/12903204-allow-email-batching-limiting
… but for non-professionnal environnement, a daily, weekly, or even 15 days or monthly “digests” of notifications and/or channels activities would be very useful. Even with one hour batches, members deactivates their notifications when they can't work everyday for the team.
“Slow projects” don't need immediate responses, and a moderate usage of notifications would be appreciated.
In some circonstances, a good (slow) timing of reminder could even drive members' involvement (e.g. for those who takes a few hours per week for a project).
This could be
- a simple increase of durations for the susmentionned “email batching” feature.
- a new feature for automatic digests or summaries of the team activities (not only to notify inactive members, but this could give everyone a simple overview for a longer period of time)

I have the beginnings of a script for this at https://github.com/demeritcowboy/mattermost-periodic-summary. The frequency is configurable but it doesn't have many features.

In our enterprise, we have too many interruptions in our day. Email really hurts our productivity. One of the driving reasons we are trying Mattermost is to try to reduce the number of interruptions in a day. With a social channel or one where we do not need to ping someone with every message added, having a daily/weekly email rolling up the channel activity for that day would be invaluable.
