Hi guys, yes I found this one could be really awesome. I found sometimes it's difficult to find a particular attachment, need to crawling to the top sometimes. Right now, I just comment every important message or attachment with my magic words so I can search them anytime. But this feature would be wow! Thank you so much for this awesome app

Such a media library / files list would make mattermost even more useful!

Would you consider also adding a function to be able to pin and/or star an attachment?

Our use case is that we would like to use the media library / files list to keep documents / howtos / other info (coding style, other dev guidelines, most recent screenshots accompanying some bug report) relevant to a project within reach. Pinning / starring would enable us to have the really often consulted docs right at the top.

Hey, I suggested adding a media library, because Mattermost already provides file uploads.
My team really likes to embed uploads into messages.
AFAIK Problem with ownCloud is, you can't drag and drop files into Mattermost and let those files be displayed inline. Also you need to overwrite the default handling of file uploads in Mattermost itself, or completly disable that feature as long as ownCloud isn't available.

It would be better to let those features be integrated parallel, just like e-mail and gitlab signup.

I do not mean to highjack this request, but would like to point to a great solution that seems easily and quickly implementable without "side-tracking" the mattermost team's efforts to perfect the core tool. Instead of duplicating functionality of dedicated on-premise file sync, share and collaboration tools, I think mattermost should integrate with the on premise, open source, secure file sync and share solution owncloud which offers media gallery plugins, ldap integration etc ( seehttps://owncloud.org/features/). My team is pretty obsessed with mattermost.

They recently asked me, if there is some kind of media or file library to access all files, uploaded to a Channel/Chat.

I have to agree, this is a really nice idea.
