Privacy option to disable disclosure of online presence
I would like options to control all the possible ways that my online presence can be disclosed by Mattermost, including:
1) any kind of online status indication
2) any kind of idle/away status indication (not sure if this exists today)
3) the indication to others that I am typing
Sometimes, users prefer to lurk... that means not revealing any kind of online presence.

Regarding 2) - you can disable notification sounds in Account Settings --> Notifications --> Desktop Notification Sounds.
Merging 1) with a duplicate suggestion of this issue.

It would be nice to be able to have an option to hide whenever I am typing. Like on Skype or Pidgin.

There are at least two kinds of notifications that I would like the option to disable:
1) The visual notification text that "a user is typing..."
2) The audio beep notifications whenever a message is received (even when Mattermost is my foreground app and I'm actively using it)
In general, all the possible notifications of events should be optionally controllable for users that prefer to minimize distractions.
