    it is annoying when references in the comments only point to "this idea has been removed". what was the resolution? sorry, general problem with this platform.

    I'll note that it is now possible to set Channel Moderation to only allow members or even just admins to post, but this also restricts access to adding replies.

    There is a separate idea to be able to configure no posts, but replies to existing posts is allowed. https://mattermost.uservoice.com/forums/306457-general/suggestions/45381994-reply-to-private-chanel-posts
