Copying and pasting is not great
A copied mattermost conversation has three lines per message, and the first line is like "ryantm1 minute ago" and the last line is blank. It would be nice if there were cleaner ways to copy the conversations.

This format seems to be mildly better now, but it's still not great. These days, you get one line with a timestamp, another line with the user's name, then the actual message.
Instead, I'd suggest a format like hipchat used:
[12:19] Username: Message
[12:20] Username2: Message2
